Something uncanny here is that I love the Unicorn Tapestries and went to the Cloisters once to see them (a branch of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NY). I used to keep some postcards of closeups of the unicorns (from the tapestries) on a bulletin board. It's the only art from the era of the Middle Ages that I have ever really been drawn to, and since they are textiles, of course, have a different aura than paintings (and different conservation concerns) so you can only imagine how fragile they are. Very.
