I date women of all races so it seems weird to me. Please share. I'm Caucasian and I'm in an interracial relationship. I have actually never dated an African American man. I just have never felt attracted to one. And I also grew up in a predominately "white" community, so that might have something to do with it..

You may date girls of all races but I'm sure there are certain types of girls you arent physically attracted to....nothing against them but they just dont do it for you.....same thing in many cases. I'm black but for some odd reason I always got the girls that never typically went for black guys

Agreed. I date who I'm attracted to, period. There's a clear attraction pattern that has emerged for me, but I don't immediately dismiss or become interested in someone strictly because of their race. It's not a conscious deciding factor for me.

sm1tten Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 I date men that I'm attracted to. Race/ethnicity doesn't really matter to me. My dating patterns are, however, a reflection of my life patterns. Growing up, I dated men in my own racial group because that was all I was exposed to. Going to college, then graduate school, entering the workforce, moving to different cities... I was exposed to different men of different backgrounds to whom I was sometimes attracted and sometimes not. There are some people who fetishize certain races/ethnicities, but I'm not one of them.

Star Gazer Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 I have a general physical type I'm attracted to, and admittedly that does involve a certain skin tone, but almost all races could potentially fit into that skin tone. I suppose even a black man could, if he was on the lighter side.
