socialresearcher Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 Hi folks, We are curious to know what you think about the idea of a dating website where you join a pool of daters, and the community can to comment on your dates. In a sense, rather than hearing from only one side, you hear from both, and you can comment and provide advice to these people who are dating? Would that work? Would that be too vain? Would that be really fun and provide a check and balance to those dating? But also might than be a great way to learn about dating for those who comment. I've never heard of a dating site like this to my knowledge.
mortensorchid Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 That would be an interesting social experiment, assuming that people will all participate and that people will keep it as civil as possible. However, I'd be wary about hearing "the truth" - from whichever party who will be participating. No one wants to hear "She's fat", "he's rude", "she was twenty minutes late", etc.
Jynxx Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 Definitely an interesting concept. If done well, with enough and smart marketing, decent software, enough moderators to kick the trolls out (this one is huge!) and a feeling for the needs of the target audience I can see it become a hit. Don't however underestimate the amount of capital needed to start it off, and realise you'll still fail 9 out of 10 times no matter how good you are, that's how these things work.
