Just curious if the guy is HOT would it matter if he SKIPPED the email and just sent the IM so you can chat with him live?

No. Back when I did online dating, it didn't matter to me what the guy looked like, either. I hated IMs.

I expected these replies which is funny because I been getting IM requests from several women without a email first. I guess most women expect guys not to care?

Doesn't matter if the guy is hot. If he's attractive and carry a conversation I could care less the format. However, I tried to do it, I really did, but it was unbearably awkward and I got inundated with a lot of nastiness too. Eventually i just turned it off.

IM to me sucks. I prefer email and then phone. All that instant back and forth. Then when you get a littl distracted someone will say-"Still there? Are you busy?
