I am a lesbian teenager living in a small town. I had never met another lesbian who I was interested in until now. I met a girl at a music festival and we immediately became great friends. We have similar interests and I love the way she sees the world around her. I really like this girl. We spent two days flirting casually and talking constantly. She seems to be interested in me, but we never gave any serious indications of interest. Unfortunately, the festival is now over and she lives 5 hours away from me. If we were to become involved, I am certain that we would be able to visit each other occasionally. I found her on facebook, but I do not know how to approach the idea without sounding creepy. I hardly know her and conversation that seemed so easy face to face is now confusing. How do I maintain a friendship with her while hopefully heading towards something more?

Openly and honestly is the approach you need to take. The fact that you are both women is irrelevant unless you are in the closet.

Just send her a message and let her know that you really enjoyed the time you spent with her and would like to see her again. In other words... have a real first date, and then a second, and then a third. After the third, reevaluate how you feel to determine if you really want a relationship with her and if she wants one with you.
