I am only asking about personality (demeanor, basically), so attach it to your favorite looks:

1. Fragile, bubbly, slightly insecure, spontaneous Carrie?

2. Super-confident, practical, self-sufficient, strong Samantha?

3. Innocent, romantic, conservative Charlotte?

4. Career-minded, rational, moderate Miranda?

Is Carrie too insecure? Charlotte too conservative? Samntha too confident? Miranda too "normal"?

Men, speak please. ;):bunny:

I wouldn't call Miranda "normal," but rather really pessimistic and borderline bitter.

None of them.

Yeah, I just figured we all know their characters. I do find Miranda normal, though. Maybe not feminine enough, but many men love tomboying girls. I was mostly curious if men like insecure women like Carrie.

I think they do, if the insecurity comes across in a way that amuses them or that they find cute. If Carrie had been played by somebody like Jennifer Aniston, the character (and, perhaps, the show) would have probably been viewed a fair bit more favourably by men.

I'm not overly familiar with the characters, but this pretty much sums up my thoughts on the subject.

Most men are visual and personality matters much less than what females think it does, especially initially. Long term is a different story, looks only go so far because personality annoyances add up and shift the balance from keeper to kicked to the curber.

I wasn't really asking about initial attraction. At any stage... :)

Rarely watched that show, but I'd opt for one without that mole/wart thingy on her chin.

Well I like bad girls so Samantha would be top. Carrie 2nd, as she's quite sassy and fairly intelligent, seems like a decent girl. Miranda is too boring, and putting up with Charlotte would be marginally less appealing than root canal surgery.

Carrie - insecure and borderline neurotic.

Samantha - would be a happy hooker.

Charlotte - dumber than a bag of hammers.

Miranda - emotionless and masculine.

Hate that show!

I gotta agree here. I watched 15 minutes of that show, and saw the most shallow, empty women I think I have ever seen. And to think there are women out there who admire these idiot characters.

I loved what someone posted on another thread that all four of those chicks put together barely made up one whole woman.

I get the impression that many women "look up" to the characters on this show which is too bad.

All of their personalities are quite unattractive and I think most men would agree.

I see them like this:

Carrie - neurotic, insecure, flighty, untrustworthy, unbalanced, too analytical.

Samantha - too strong, over confident, smug, man eating slut

Charlotte - too girlie, unrealistic, head in the clouds, WAY too annoying.

Miranda - grumpy, negative, boring.

Carrie is the type of girl you'd date for a month or so and think things were going great only to find out she's been dating 15 other guys on the side. Samantha's past makes her one-night-stand material. Charlotte would make you want to tape her mouth shut and Miranda would probably have you blowing your brains out in short order.

All that being said, if Miranda could somehow find some way of being happy and fun she probably has the best personality.

P.S. Charlotte is by far the most attractive.

I can't actually believe people still talk about this show. I was asked this question a few months ago in a bar and I looked at the person in disbelief. Talk about dated, cliched nonsense. A bunch of annoying, materialistic, spoilt, moronic women I would be ashamed of being linked to.

All I know is that I watched 15 minutes of the movie where they go to Dubai and I almost off myself right there. Thank the freaking gods that I don't know these bitches in real life. In one word I would describe them all as mean.

I feel the same way about Entourage.

I don't care for any of them.

Carrie is the typical bad boy chaser. She wants a man who is totally out of her league and won't commit, but she desperately tries to get him to change...even destroying possible great relationships in the process.

I've only seen a few episodes and read the plots of the movies on Wikipedia, but I'll be honest and say I don't buy it that any "Carrie" would ever land "Mr Big" as her husband. He would have stayed single and swinging or married some BBD.

Miranda is a pessimistic b***h. Stop blaming men for being alone. Plus she works to make herself look too manly.

Charlotte is pretty, but a spoiled princess. She reminds me of every woman I've met who wants the man who really doesn't exist and expects a man to give her a lavish fantasy life. I get a riot out of women who plan these amazing lives...with another man's money.

Samantha I give credit as she's honest with herself and the men she bangs, but she would not be for me. I'd want a relationship, not a fling.

It's just tv. The characters are formulated for mass appeal to a broad marketplace in order to draw in viewers for advertising revenues. That being said, I agree with the none of them post.
