This women sent me a message today and we talked and she wanted to me meet while she was in uniform???

I'm already not comfortable with her being a police officer but to meet her while she is on duty would be weird, anyone agree?

I wouldn't care.

But, I had seen a woman that stated that she was like under 5 feet tall in her profile. I often wondered why they hire someone that petite?

The gun and holster would probably weigh more than them.

If she's on duty she should be catching criminals (or whatever it is that police officers do) not going on a date!

I don't think I have a problem with dating a police officer, though.

It would probably make me nervous. I'd keep wondering if she was going to taze me for jay walking or some such thing.

Also, does she look like Heather Locklear on TJ Hooker? If so, "YES!"

If it was in a "This is the only thing I wear on first dates because I have a weird fetish" way, then that's weird and funny! And what I choose to imagine.

(Sorry not a guy, but that image just made me laugh a bit. Also: aren't police uniforms unflattering to women. Seems an odd time to meet for that reason alone. But I'm a girly girl. What do I know?)

I would also feel a bit nervous at the idea, but I think I would like it.

KINKY!

I'd meet her if I saw photos of her and I thought she was attractive.

Who cares what she does? If it's a match, why deny it? Lady Cops need love too.

You never know...she might have a "sexy policewoman" costume hiding in her closet, itching to pull it out on the guy who gives her a chance in a relationship. ;)

hahaha....there is the whole cuff aspect to the sex .. spread 'em

Hey PD.. She is probably testing you a bit.. trying to not waste your time.

I'll bet anything she has had many a guy bolt after finding out she was a cop...

By the way. sure I'd date one.. I have a BIL that is on the force here and have the biggest respect for their job.

I wouldn't advise it if you're a professional criminal or on the run from the law. Otherwise, why not? Lots of guys love a woman in a uniform.

number of yrs ago i went out with this chick, she was good looking and smart. over dinner i found out she worked for the IRS () and i never called her again....hahahaha

Agree to meet her and stand back to observe if she brings a truncheon or the standard collapsible baton. If it's the former, RUN!

I wouldn't date a cop period.

Think of how hairy things can get if it goes south! It won't just be rumors about your penis size or crank calls!

Did you write off the dinner

Yes, it's important to remember, as already stated, police are people, too and are looking for love just like anybody else.

There tend to be a couple different types attracted to the job. One of those types is the "helper type", and oftentimes, female officers fall into that category. I think if her goal is to become an investigator, she definitely is probably this type, as she most likely wants to "make a difference".

As for wanting to meet up while she's on duty, I wouldn't be too concerned with that--she probably just wants to see you, and working 10 hours or so a day, and spending a few hours getting ready--it doesn't leave a lot of other time to see you (except for days off, which might be odd days and times and not correspond with your schedule). They have a lot of freedom on their job. They have an area to cover, and they need to be available to take calls in that area, so it is very possible while meeting up with you, she'll have to go and take care of a call. But, there is a lot of down time (depending on where she works), where all she'll need to do is be is a visible presence, but not necessarily be in the middle of a call. She's there to help citizens, and you're another citizen. To come and talk with her while she's on duty really doesn't prevent her from doing her job. Crime can happen anywhere, and either she'll see it while talking with you, or she'll get a call on the radio, letting her know where she needs to be.

So yea, my opinion is, she has an identity outside of her cop career--get to know the person she is and try not to see her as her career choice. She'll have great stories for you, I'm sure, and like any woman, is probably looking for a man to make her feel loved and protected, even if she's totally capable of protecting herself. I say go for it.

I don't think I could be attracted enough to one to have a relationship. I pride myself on being an independent thinker, I live by my own rules, I make my own judgement on complex situations and doing it better than other people is my job, I judge right from wrong according to my own moral compass etc. That's the complete opposite of what is drilled into people during police training.

Find out what her results were on her career psych personality test. If she falls into the results that 80% of cops do, then the issue Jynxx brought up could be a problem. If her results falls into the other 20% (the helper types), then everything should be fine, and she will be more open minded and tolerant.

A little known fact about police, too, is that she'll probably have the best sense of humor you've ever seen.

I wouldn’t really want to date a police officer. The thing is if I was single and she was cute I’d be all for it any way.

She'd have to face the same criteria any woman faces for me to be attracted to her. One thing about female officers is that they often tend to display a masculine attitude. I know they get trained to display authority, but for some reason I associate that with male behavior and hence as masculine. Masculinity in a woman isn't attractive to me. Sometimes they do that beyond working hours as if they're one of the guys, but if she'd take that home with her and behave like that towards me, then that would be a turn-off.

So in short, I'm not ruling out female officers, but as I'd hold them against the same standards as other women, I might have more difficulty being attracted to them. But who knows, perhaps there are female officers out there who are able to retain their femininity. In my entire life I might have seen only one such a female officer, so that might be some slim pickings regarding that.

I had a dyslexic moment, I thought the title read: Women would you be interested in dating a man who is a police officer?

I am disappointed.
