If you feel like it is taking a long time, it's because you have a big heart and you care a lot (that is a good thing Just know that it WILL get better. What you are feeling is not forever. Trust me. Read some of the posts on this forum and you will see you are not alone. Also, if you still have contact with your ex I recommend cutting off all ties so that you can heal. Take care.

You are grieving the loss of a loved one. It's almost like a death that you are experiencing with the end of your partnership with this person. I bet when it happened, you were crying every minute. But now there are times that you feel better. So, that's your sign that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. In time the crying spells will be few and far between. You may still feel sad but sadness that is tolerable. Sadness that maybe requires a gut wrenching cry and then you're off and about. A release. But nothing that keeps you dwelling and in indefinite pain. It's a process Without. A painful one but I promise you as you move forward, the pain and the crying spells will lessen. But it's not going to happen if you sit around and wait for time to go by. It;s what you do with that time that will help you lessen the emotional load. Counting weeks and how many times you cry won't get you anywhere but an additional 3 weeks of 3 times a day crying.
