Made a dumb mistake on POF; how can I fix it with the girls I messaged?

So when I made my Plenty of Fish profile, I accidentally mistyped my zip code which placed me in a city in a different state. I realized something was strange when I kept getting blocked from messaging girls in my area, when it said "_______ is only accepting messages from people who live close by" and then I discovered my mistyped zip code.

I think a reason why the vast majority of girls didn't respond was because they thought I was messaging them from hundreds of miles away. How can I fix this? A follow up message?

I did, but like I said, now I'm worried all these girls think I messaged them from hundreds miles away. They already read my profile and it said I was in another state. How do I inform them that that isn't the case?

How can I fix this?

You don't.

If I find someone attractive, interesting, or compelling on PoF and he happens to live hundreds of miles away, then I write back, "Drat! Loved the message, but you're too far away. If you ever plan on moving/visiting so-and-so, let me know!"

Why? Well, they might be moving to that area, live there already, or, shocking, have a typo.

Let these girls go. You cannot rectify a situation where you have already messaged a woman--online, if she's not interested, she's not interested. Period.

Don't send follow-up messages--you will only annoy them and disappoint yourself. =/ Hard truth of online dating, man.

I've noticed that you mention in a lot of your threads you feel you should write a follow up message. It's not a good idea. If a girl is interested, regardless of distance or whatever, she will acknowledge you. Writing follow up messages seems a little desperate. That's how I feel when a guy writes a message after I haven't responded to him the first time.

I think the error messages you received were automatic and these women never received the message at all. You might want to double check that is how the PoF filter works.

PoF is a high volume site. Within a few weeks, you'll have a fresh crop of profiles to message. I wouldn't worry about the women you messaged already and didn't respond. Move on to new people, but you can re-message those who filtered you.

Like the others said, you need to move on. If you try to follow up and fix what went wrong you will lower your value and make yourself seem desperate. Take the mindset of a guy who has options with women - he doesn't get hung up with the ones that got away - he just moves on and takes the next opportunities that present themselves to him. This is the kind of guy that women want.
