Is there such a thing? Im not entirely sure I have one.

I tend to be attracted to tall, geeky guys :D ... so perhaps thats mine?

Do you know what yours is?

Someone who's kind, caring and affectionate. Someone who has a steady income and cares about himself. Someone with a good sense of humor and can laugh at himself. He likes to go out and have a good time, but doesn't overindulge too often. Someone who doesn't take life too seriously and really enjoys himself where ever he is. Someone when people meet him they say, "he's a good guy".

I used to say my "type" was about physical features and superficial things...then I discovered what was really important to my happiness.

Also, what I thought was my "type", never worked out long term either. So I changed what I was looking for in a person.

Respiration and a heartbeat helps. I gave up on necrophilia when I got divorced ;)

At my age, as long as she's vertical and not a vampire, I'm open to pretty much anything that isn't attached to another man. You'd be surprised at how hard that bill is to fill in my neck of the woods.

For me lookswise, she would have to be around my height or smaller (Im around 5ft 6), girly (likes wearing make dresses, not too much make up, heels, etc) with if possible brown or dark eyes.

Personalitywise, genuine, honest, caring and loyal.

I've posted this several times already, but what the hell. When it comes to physicality I like slender girls who are smaller than me(I'm 6', 182cm). In terms of personality I like happy, positive and optimistic girls/women. I also appreciate it when she's intelligent/knowledgeable or when it's possible to have interesting conversations with her.

Here's a compilation of celebrities that show the type of women I'm attracted to. They rock my boat in terms of looks and most have fun personalities too: http://bit.ly/nYJghz

When I write it down it would be something like tall, slim, brunette, very intelligent and likes cuddling.

In reality I find that I can compromise on the first three, but if she isn't very intelligent or doesn't like cuddling then it just isn't going to work.

I think chemistry is more important than an actual type.

However, I did have a type back when I was in the dating pool.

Tall, dark hair, fit, bookish, quick wit, good sense of humor, affectionate and confident.

I don't have a preference as to ethnicity.

Cute, smart guys with glasses are always a plus.

I don't think I really have a type anymore either as long as they can make me laugh, humor my jokes, are gentlemanly and make me feel very protected. Also I like a guy who's independent and has a steady job/profession.

When I was younger though I was a sucker for the bad ones! Skaters, dirtbike riders, guys in bands, just bad boys in general. Haha. But those are not good news. Obviously. That's why they're bad!

A lot of these posts are generally made up of the same attributes.. OK, of COURSE everyone wants a significant other who's intelligent, caring, mentally sound and physically healthy.. And I personally don't have a particular "type" - I like darker hair, that's probably about it. I don't have preferences in things that can't be changed, so I'd say I'm pretty open. I think this whole thread was sort of pointless. Meh. :bunny:

In terms of personality, I don't really have a "type." As long as they're not Jersey Shore types or non-conformist Hipster types, I'm good.

As far as the look, I have a huge thing for Indian girls. Good god, their sweet "brown" complexion and the pretty makeup just makes me :love::love:.

I really have no idea. From the selection of men I find attractive, it would be hard to tell. They're all so different; physically & personally.

Alright, alright, I have to agree with you.

For some reason, I really find indian/spanish/middle eastern women beautiful. (At least, the eastern women that I've seen WITHOUT their religious garments were beautiful.. Maybe that's why some of them wear 'em and not others? I kid, I kid.. :p)

Hmm, my type..well let's see, I honestly don't believe I have one - I'd like to think I give everyone a fair chance.

I honestly seem to be drawn towards the gothic or the sporty type. But what-the-hell, my ex was neither and we had a (somewhat) great 3 years together.

I'm pretty sure this whole attraction thing will change as I get older.

Agreed. Of course, everyone wants someone to be smart, sweet, and funny. Humor is of the utmost importance to me...

For me, they're usually endearingly dorky  having a college education is a non negotiable.

Physically, all my loves have been tall (3 of the 4 over 6 feet) although Im only 5'3", so everyone is tall to me! They usually tend to have brown hair, brown eyes... and... I kinda dig skinny guys.... is that weird? Haha

You'RE incorrect.

You're also dumb.

Physically, I don't seem to have a 'type' (nice eyes really help, though). Personality wise, I like intelligent and somewhat sensitive/ gentle men who are curious, like to learn, like to travel, and are not very materialistic.

Before I met my current BF, I gave up the traditional "type" and went for a "relationship list" instead of the list of traits in a person. I wrote a description of the relationship I wanted to have. So far, I actually pretty much have it. :) I started saying "I don't have a type. I'll know him when I see him." I'm not sure if my BF is the ultimate "him" but we'll see. Anyway, I totally recommend doing that instead of making some list of traits --- I've found that the traits really didn't matter as much as I thought they did, and the ones that did matter were super broad traits like "kind" and "smart." But does anyone really say they want to date someone mean and stupid?

White, slim, taller than average, nice legs. Can't stand girls with disproportionately short and/or chunky legs. Wide hips are also a turnoff.

Aren't most if not all eyes beautiful in their own way? I think anyone could be complimented on their eyes, although you may not really notice how nice their eyes are unless you had a chance to really stare deeply into someone elses' pair..

I agree with Zen, it'd probably be best for a person to think of their relationship "types".. What kind of person they are and what kind of person they'd probably work best with.

By the way, being a very mellow yet sociable person, should I try to look for someone a bit more outgoing than myself? You'd think that they'd bring out the social butterfly in me and I might show them how to chill out? :)

i love wide hips. thinking like marilyn monroe type hips. they gotta be proportional enough for her to pull off, not really fat per se, but as long as the legs match the hips and her upper body isn't tiny in comparison, i like it.

otherwise, pale skin, dark hair, that's the look i prefer. maybe it's from growing up in new orleans, that's a prevalent type among the french descended women there. i don't have anything against naturally darker skinned women (indian, black, hispanic, etc) but on the other hand i'd never be attracted to a woman with a fake tan or tanning booth tan.

While we're on the subject of hips, my type ;) Oh, hell, lips for that matter :D
