Hi all,

So my bf of 4 years broke up with me the end of May. We had attended a marriage conference and were talking marriage for about a year. The conference was over and the next day he broke up with me. He's 30 next month and there are people (his family and friends) who believe this is his mid life crisis. When he broke up with me he told me he loves me and doesn't want to loose me and I am his best friend and he doesn't want to live his life with out me in it.

He dragged his heels on getting is crap, he hasn't ended financial things with me (bank accounts, debt, loans etc) he refuses to sign the dog over to my name but also refuses to have anything to do with her. Not sure what to think of these actions...

I have had no contact what so ever with him for a month (I initiated it). He's no longer on my friends on facebook (though he can still see my profile) he's not in my phone or email anymore. We have mutual friends that I have gone for coffee with and have kept in touch with over the last couple of months that have told me he keeps asking about me and what I'm up to...He has sent emails and texts and stuff that includes some refence about me and my life. Now he's on dating sites and is meeting a lot of new people and he is also telling them he is moving on.

Now my question is this; I am curious how to take this information? I mean he hasn't contacted me but what would you think about him asking about me and stuff? I am living my life and going out having fun, making friends, I am not sitting on my couch and pinning but I do love this man.

Anyway any advice would be appreciated

He could have some issues going on, stuff that affects his life now. These issues forced him to end it with you but he still feels close to you. It's nothing new really - I've been on both sides.

The thing you have to concentrate on is you; your healing and getting to a better place, which it sounds like you're doing. He left you and no doubt hurt you. Maybe in time you can forgive him for that and both of you can be friends, but I think it's too soon.

If it keeps bothering you, then talk to him but only if you know it won't affect you to see him again. At the end of the day, it was his decision and whatever regrets he's having now are his to deal with. Not yours.
