quietGuy13 Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 So i went to the speech therapiest . great but she's been giving it for low cost and i think she doesn't want to anymore. her typical cost is high. She's not Family therapist but gave me some help but I needed someone to talk to more about my social problems and traumas too etc, and that was a Speech therapist so i felt i had to look somewhere else too. anyway before iever went to that therapist i had called other place for counseling type therapy. and yesterday i had my first session!!! awesomeeee instant connection, she liked me, she wanted tohelp me alot and understood my problems. we had great session then as i was explaining my worries and things i need help with, i was talking like a dummy cause like i said i have some speech problem. i was so stuck and just went uhm uhm uhm all the time. and no i wasn't shy. i'm not shy with doctors and such. i just can't think fast. anyways she noted that and said she will help me and also shehappened to be a kindof a sports dr. too, so she noted my physical probs and said will help me too. and will help me find a way to find a good job and how to make friends/gf. she was awesome. i told her about how i love humming and she said tokeep doing it.
cerridwen Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 This sounds very promising! Is this the therapist who agreed to see you at a lower rate? Will this be sustainable?
whichwayisup Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 This is great! I'm glad you've found someone who can help you and also someone who understands.. It makes a huge difference when you know the therapist is good and cares about you (aka, not just in it for the money and clock watching)..
Author quietGuy13 Posted July 30, 2011 Author Posted July 30, 2011 Hello again. I'm back. I've been going to therapy/counseling and it's GREAT!!!!!!
pie2 Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 Glad to know it's going well If you feel comfortable, let us know some of the most helpful techniques/interventions the therapist has suggested.
Author quietGuy13 Posted August 6, 2011 Author Posted August 6, 2011 Well it's great cause I'm getting lot of help and couseling, multidimensional because my problem is multidimensional. For example, I have medical issues with my brain and then abusive parents since childhood. i'm gonna get tested and then also finding ways to move out etc. I'm feeling happy because i feel change is coming soon but i also kind of fear what my parents will do. Wow, i was ignorant of what was going on in my family. but now i'm getting it and it's obvious. i wish i had had nicer parents but although they seem nice when i don't talk, they are against everything i say and do including the way i am (personality) so i've always felt like crap and they control me
carhill Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 Do you find your thoughts and words flow more smoothly now? Do you feel more relaxed? Glad to read you feel positive about the process. It's a lot of work but it can be 'good' work. Good luck
Author quietGuy13 Posted August 9, 2011 Author Posted August 9, 2011 In case you haven't read my other spread threads, I'm planing on getting some financial help and then moving. But i'm not sure how to go about this. Since parents are controlling they would kill me or something any tips?
Calisha Brown Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 Hey after reading your post I wanted to go to any therapist.
