thatone Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 i've been harassed by my dad for a few years to move back home to south louisiana but have resisted pretty easily. last week he calls knowing i don't have much going on asking me to come down and visit for a few days, and zero'ing in on my boredom with the crazy waitress and starving artist types that i've mentioned dating recently he throws in..."OH BY THE WAY here's a phone number for a buddy of mine's daughter, she's expecting a call and to meet you when you get here". so i'm thinking "you sneaky old man, you're not gonna get me to come back that easy." but on the other hand i had nothing better to do so what the hell, i called her, we made plans for friday. so i get to her place friday evening, knock on the door, and on the other side of it is the stereotypical picture of new orleans french uptown class. anyone who has been to mardi gras knows what i'm talking about, i'm sure. tall, dark hair, fair skin, blue eyes, and a gorgeous figure that obviously didn't come from a surgeon. and yeah, after a few hours it's pretty obvious that she has the intelligence/education/social graces/etc to go with the looks. so we spend friday and saturday together not really finding anything to disagree about, and last night after bringing her home just as i'm getting into my best reassuring speech about what a great weekend it has been and how i hope she's not apprehensive about getting into a long distance thing, because i'm willing to spend more time here and have time to come back as often as i want, she basically tackles me before i can finish what i'm saying . so i guess i'll be spending a lot of time back home after all...
