merlyna Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 This is the situation. He is a store director for a very large retailer and I work as a teacher. He wants to get promoted but needs to work at a store that makes more money before he can do so. Now we live together but we aren't engaged. He just applied to a job that would require moving three hours away without telling me about it first. Now this doesn't mean he will have an interview or get the job, but more than likely he will. We just bought the house we are living in a month ago and I just got a reliable teaching job. Am I being selfish if I want him to wait and see what else pops up closer to our home?
Valid Sintax Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 How seriously is he considering this potential job? Does he want to get engaged? Do you? Have you two talked about being together in the future? Even if you aren't engaged, if you've talked about being together for years to come and you both have expressed that you want that, then...maybe he doesn't really want it too. You might want to talk with him and figure out if he wants to get away from you, away from the place where you presently live, away from his job, etc...what's he trying to leave?
