NicoleM Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 I cannot keep shaking it. I am having this weird feeling like something isn't right. We were getting along great but slowly things died down. The feelings for him slowly died Tuesday. One day we were all fine and like I mentioned on the previous post things changed.He wanted to be more friends and keep saying how he cannot promise me anything and he still wants to date me. It is a weird feeling I cannot explain. It's like one minute we were cool and the next I cannot help but feel this insane level of awkwardness.
spiderowl Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 It sounds like he's changed the ground rules from 'We are dating and there is potential in this' to 'I still want to date you' ('still' implies despite something not being right) 'but I can't promise you anything' - which roughly translated could mean 'I'm not looking ahead to a future with you at the moment'. This is a big underlying change and it's not surprising you are feeling uneasy. Why should you continue to date someone so uncertain and who obviously has misgivings?

rafallus Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 Thinking too much is a recipe for disaster. Looks like it's too early for any promises, I don't think you even know each other that well. Just take it at the face value and keep dating. Pressuring for sth to happen never worked in my case.
