bluenightowl Posted July 9, 2011 Posted July 9, 2011 Sorry if this has been posted before, but if someone sent you a kindly worded email breakup letter after say 5 months of dating and they dumped you for someone else, would you reply to it or ignore it. If you didn't reply is that wrong? I've heard the silent treatment is almost a form of hurt in itself for the brain, not to hear back from someone, not to mention there is no closure, yet do you really owe the person breaking up with you anything?
WTRanger Posted July 9, 2011 Posted July 9, 2011 After 5 years, maybe. But it depends on the content of the email and you felt it was from the heart. 5 months? Nope. Nadda. Zilch. Zero. Especially after being dropped like a hot rock for someone else. If the breakup had a different reason, maybe. But not that. Your ex is just looking to ease their guilt, or maybe get some side nookie.

It did seems from the heart, but she also wanted to be friends and hangout after telling me how special this other person was. I felt that was disrespectful.
