I am so happy we are on the same page. I did not feel anything at all when we were together. But as a guy i felt i had to go for a kiss not to hurt your feelings. Thank you very much for taking it off my shoulders. See you soon friend!" Don't listen to jester the militant atheist troll. He's the one who should take a flying leap to find out whether his bitter nihilistic rants were accurate. Your suggestion sounded pretty good, at least the idea of it. But the wordiness and the language make it seem really insincere. How about something like "Yeah, I guess the kiss was awkward. I just felt like I was supposed to, '2nd date rule', you know? Well, see you around..." And then just drop any attempts at romantic stuff completely. Move on and outwardly friend-zone her but feel free to occasionally get together as friends. If she initiates anything after that then she's opened the door again. I just don't think "one mistake" is always the end of it unless you make it into that and dwell on it. You can occasionally like .. explain to someone as a human being what you were thinking in human terms. It's not only guys that can possibly comprehend this topic. In any case he won't be making a fool of himself by hanging on a girl that semi-rejected his advances.
