Memphis Raines Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 Alright so it was an argument that got somewhat out of control yesterday but I was drunk. To be honest don't recalled that much how it all started but think he said something I didn't liked and my reaction was too fast without thinking, I just shoved him and he fell on the pool, got all wet. He's a good swimmer and well afterwards (after almost everyone at the party saw this) it got soo awkward. While he were in the car driven by one of my female girls, he sat there and whole time and didn't spoke a word to me on the way home. After calling him for the 3rd time he finally answered but said he's still mad and hanged up. How long is he going to still be mad at me? who knows. I probably wouldn't continue the relationship because it crosses a line when an argument turns physical. (yes I know you didn't punch him or anything, but thats how it starts). If someone puts their hands on me once, its over. I was drunk.. people do things when drunk including cheat, is that an excuse? maybe you shouldn't get drunk anymore. ... and well I'm only 18 years old. nice try. at 18 you are an adult, a young adult yes, but an adult nonetheless. you know right from wrong by this time.
Memphis Raines Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 I was going to yesterday but he hanged up too fast so I'll say it in his email. So by then I guess everything will be alright again right and he'll forget this in no time?? I admit it was funny at that moment seeing him all soaking wet, I started laughing. ah, so you thought it was funny and not sorry for what you did. I hope he breaks up with you then.
Memphis Raines Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 The update is things got sorted out and I'll just leave this as a drunken stupidity. Come on, it's not like you can get charges for this. actually you can. IF the person you touched considers it unwanted. One of the definitions of battery is the unwanted touching from another person. Now would I file charges of battery against a girlfriend that did this to me? absolutely not. would I break up with a gf that did this to me? hhmmm. depends. maybe, maybe not. would I break up with a gf that did this to me in an argument and then laughed at me with no intentions of saying sorry or having any remorse? absolutely.
Memphis Raines Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/battery a : the act of battering or beating b : an offensive touching or use of force on a person without the person's consent In other words, and yes a friend of mine who is a state cop clarified, if you went up to someone, and just simply put your finger on their shoulder, and they found it unwanted or offensive just on the basis that they didn't give you permission, they can have you arrested for battery. might be a little silly pressing charges for that, but they can do it and the charges will stick.
Casablanca Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 I was drunk.. people do things when drunk... and well I'm only 18 years old. Don't blame the booze, that is not an excuse; alcohol doesn't make you change from dr jekyll to mr hyde, as Auggie Smith said, this is what we call in the insurance business a preexisting condition. I'd be mad for a few days, that was really dumb what you did and if I was your bf, I'd seriously considering dumping you
