We were together for a year, relationship was going great, her kids loved me, her parents and friends loved me. But it appears she has fallen out if love with me and I'm pretty sure she is thinking about going back to her emotionally abusive ex husband.

There is always a chance for anything but typically rebound relationships are doomed because the rebounder hasn't worked through the issues of the previous relationship. The situation is further complicated if her kids are to her former partner .... They share and will always share a common commitment to the kids. Sometimes that commitment is enough to make people rationalise moving back into an abusive relationship ... Unfortunately, you might be the collateral damage as she bounces from one relationship, to another and back again!
