When he didn't hook up with the easy waitress in the walk-in cooler it was probably fairly evident he was gay to everyone But now that he's in there.....the manager's hands are tied. The special interest groups will destroy him if he fires the guy. As long as he isn't suggesting anything "fruity" to the male customers ya can't really do anything.

I'm a fast thinking diplomatic person, I was able to have my seating changed to a non gay waitresses' section. I accomplished that without hurting anyone's feelings, not something a bigot would care about. To tell the truth, a lesbian (but not dyke) waitress would be hot) Less kindly customers will hurt his feelings when they are blunt. Others will suffer quietly and never come back to dine there again. The "crowd" that may start dinning there because of that waiter, is the sort of group that will frighten off normal people. I'm all about kindness and fairness, I really, really hope that waiter is able to find employment in a more proper setting. I wish him no harm at all. In the best possible outcome... "easy Annie" would cure him of his curse. I bet he was born normal but was turned by some gay teacher or maybe, just maybe, a gay waiter in a family place.

yellowhibiscus Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 Yesterday I took my date to my favorite chain restaurant. We were seated by a new waiter, he spoke in a feminine way. Then I observed him checking out some guys who walked in, he wasn't checking out their lady friends. I'm a wise judge of character and I judged this character to be gay. I recalled the name of one of the waitresses (I dined there last week) and diplomatically asked him if Annie was working, I told him we always sat in her section. No problem, done. I know the manager pretty well, as I am a regular customer. I feel I should alert him to the fact that he hired a gay guy. But I'm uncomfortable pointing out something that will make the manager feel stupid, the signs were there if he had paid attention. That is my dilemma... how do I let him know he fouled up, without making him feel dumb? WTF....is this a joke or are we being trolled? How do you know Annie isn't gay too?? You know there are laws that protect individuals from being discriminated in the workplace... If this is serious, then this is very sad.
