I was just curious-- Have any of you ever had or know of any reconciliation with an ex you haven't had any contact with in a very long time even after ending on bad terms?? Do you know of anyone who's gotten back together under those circumstances? Just being optomistic

SoleMate Posted April 23, 2004 Posted April 23, 2004 My stepgrandmother was rudely dumped back in 1944 by her first love and fiance. Both parties went on to marry others, have kids, etc. They lost track of each other over the years. Both were eventually widowed, and they came back into touch. They married in 1989 and had 8 very happy years together before Clare (the husband) died of cancer. I have never seen an old couple so happy - they were glowing like teenagers all the time they were together. If anyone lives near Oelwein, Iowa, you may have known Clare and Ruth Claxton. She is still alive and has moved to Minnesota to be nearer her family.
daretodream80 Posted April 27, 2004 Posted April 27, 2004 I am thinking about getting back together with my ex boyfriend "Rob". When I met him i was homeless and he was too.. It was a pretty hard time for the both of us and I found strength in him... He was in a shelter that based its existance on God, so thru my ex I found my faith an fell in love with "Rob" and with God. Alot of people were convinced that we were supposed to be together.. we met this woman from our church-- she's incredibly strong in her faith and so much so that she believed we were soulmates... He broke up with me because he said he saw me with another guy.. the guy he saw me with was a friend and when my ex saw me with this guy --- he said he saw me kiss him.. NOT the case. i whispered this secret into my guy friend's ear... there was no kiss had between him and i... Pretty soon my ex got into drugs pretty badly too... So i walked out on him one day and havent seen him since.. i've talked to him on the phone once and gotten a few emails.. but we broke up almost a year ago and i still miss him... i realize now that he's the one for me.. he's my soulmate... i just hope he's ok wherever he's at and that we can be together soon.....
