Grass is Greener Syndrome tied in with a girl's Daddy Issues?

My Ex's dad and mom divorced when she was around 13-14..she is 20 now. He hasn't been living with them since- could this be a reason as to why when I left for 15 days on a vacation she attached herself to one of her friends emotionally and is now dating him? ....She even told me if i never left she wouldn't have done that. This is all due to lonelyness. She left a 4.5 year relationship behind all because of these 15 days that I was gone for. Can anyone explain this to me? How can someone just go from one relationship to another just like that? How can you attach yourself to someone else out of lonelyness. I was gone 15 days for a vacation to visit my family and I come back and she is all different and distant/cold.

Any ideas?

It seems to me as if your vacation was a "way out" for her. Don't blame yourself. This "emotional relationship" was in the making. She just needed an excuse. You leaving her oh so lonely did not cause this. Let her go. She made her bed and has to lay in it.

Gaslighting.

You were a great support during a turbulent period in her life, combined with the normal aches and pains of 'growing up'. She's going to fly away now. Wish her well, or be thankful she's gone. Your choice.

IME, women who flip like light switches make poor long term partners. As you're young, that's OK, as long-term isn't yet a real concern. That she 'flipped' without prior notice or discussion just underscores the unhealthiness of the dynamic.

Read the thread in my signature and regain health. If you wish to call it gigs or frogging or cheating or ???, OK, do that, but move on.

Don't be naive. She had already checked out months prior. You spending 15 days on holiday was simply the "excuse" she was looking for to check out.

Personally, if I found out my ex left me for another guy I would never give her the time of day. I would be so pissed, that not only would I NOT be looking to reconcile, I would AVOID her and never mention her name again.
