Hi. I've asked a few of my friends about a recent situation, but they are rarely as helpful as a visit to loveshack. So, here I sit, wondering what the heck kind of a freak show I encountered this time. Before I go on, he's already been given "the boot", so I'm not asking for advice as far as he goes. I am honestly, 100% just baffled by his weird/ creepiness.

We went to high school together. He was 2 years younger. Honestly, I didn't remember him, but I played along like I knew who he was because we had so many mutual freinds. Oh, aaaaand because he is not horrendous on the eyes,k but that is no longer here nor there. We start chatting on facebook. He asks for my number. He texts aallll day long for a few days. When he falls asleep, I get a "sorry, I fell asleep" text. I'm thinking "perfect, a guy who isn't worried about games/ looking cool, etc". Then one night, he says let's meet up. I say ok. I was at a party not far from his side of town. He was helping his friend tile his floor, so he kept pushing the meeting time back...until I was too tired and told him I needed a rain check. It started around 10:00 pm and I finally said no thanks by about midnight.

Then another night: I'm going to finish up around the house then call you. An hour goes by & he texts..."are you still up?" I say "yep". Nothing. Next morning: "sorry, I'm a jerk...fell asleep". No big deal. People fall asleep. He has 2 kids and we've been talking a week.

Same thing happens. Gonna call in a few. Nothing.

NOTE: He contacted me. HE said he was going to call ME in a few. I wouldn't care if he didn't call but HE SAID IT, you know?

A few other similar instances happen. Then LAST night... after an hour or so of texting..."What do you want to do...stay in or go out" "Ok, let's watch a movie" and texts like that. I text: "ok, when do you want to meet up?" "Very soon" no address, no time, and I'm sitting there like a chooch figuring out if I'm going to meet up with theis fool or my other friends. So, I text :ok, if you don't give me a time/place, I'm going to do something else". No response. 20 minutes later I text "ok, I'm not playing games. Never mind" then he texts "what?"

Basically, have any of you ever met someone who just strings people on for everything? It's freaking weird and creepy and I want to know who the freak is so bored that he would play this weird chase game? Does this sound like anything you've ever dealt with? I ahve my own theory on it, but I would appreciate hearing anything people ahve to offer!! This was about 2 weeks of this crap before yesterday. Weirdo. Weirdo. Weirdo. I know I dodged a bullet, but I think it's so strange!!Thanks!!!

knee jerk response: he's not single, and is contemplating cheating on his wife/gf for the first time.

I agree with this! I think he's hiding something. I "talked" to the same kind of guy a few years back. Went to high school together, reconnected on facebook. He would text me all the time as well and just fall asleep. Always talking about us and the future yet wasn't making much effort to hang out RIGHT NOW. Would say he's coming over or going to call then fall asleep. It was so annoying and weird! During all this, he would always talk about another girl we graduated with and how obssessed she was with him and that she's crazy, overweight, too dominating. Well I got sick of his wishy washy BS and finally dropped his ass. Guess who he's dating now??? Yeah, I have a feeling he was talking to her at the same time as me.

Thanks for the responses. I agree- he's hiding something. I 've met every type of freak show, and I beleive he is up there on the list. I asked him if he had a wife or something. He said "nope, I'm as single as they come". Whatever. He is cute and seemed nice. I'm just happy he "showed his a$$" now.

My initial thought was that he's wacky and possible some sort of abusive something....maybe one who partakes in "gaslighting". I just think he got off on seeing if I'd keep waiting. Weirdo.

Thanks again! I jsut don't understand how people are so kooky and how I seem to be some sort of kooky magnet. lol.

I have two friends who do this. One is a hot chick who always has something going on. Probably about 50-60% of the times she's asked me to hang out, she ends up canceling at the last minute due to some random excuse that is obviously made up. I let it slide because a) she's just a friend, not a romantic interest, b) she's the one who always asks me out, not vice versa and c) she is good looking and popular so I'm sure she just found something more interesting to do at the last minute than hang out with me, which I can accept. The lying annoys me but I'm not dating her so it's no real skin off my back.

The other friend who does this is my best friend who really does fall asleep or forget that we have plans, mainly because he has ADD and can't hold a train of thought for more than 30 seconds at a time. So it sounds like your guy could either be continuously finding other plans or has ADD.

haha, NYC guy. I just got home from a mini vaca to the city today! Well, he did mention having ADD multiple times, so that's pretty accurate :) BUT, I have to say I'm the hotter/more popular of the 2 of us, so it makes no sense. Either way, he is clearly a chooch, so no skin off my back either. Thank you for your response :) !!!
