We all go thru rough spots with dating where you just got 5 crazies in a row and you're wondering if the entire (insert gender here) population has taken too many drugs in the past. Just think how much nicer it will be when you meet a nice person who fits you like a glove. Don't give up too soon and settle b/c you think there can't be anyone better out there. (that advice is for me too!)

Just remember, everyone is crazy--you just have to find the brand of crazy you can live with. And for me, after years of marriage, all the dating rules have changed so it's a whole new world.
mo mo Posted June 26, 2011 Posted June 26, 2011 You know, I never really had a bad date. I never really got the impression that a girl wasn't into me during a date either. It's the stuff that happens AFTER or in between dates that drives me nuts.

It was a first date and it lasted 10 hours. However, I don't know if the guy is interested in a relationship and we haven't gone out again. We've talked/texted some throughout the week, but that's it. So, a date can be bad and lead to no second date, or a date can be good and lead to no second date.

OK fair enough My last date was awesome. It lasted about 7 hours. We discovered we had plenty in common and we had a lot of fun together. I kissed her at the end of the night. No second date. She completely flipped everything on me a few days after it all happened. I saw her again recently and she tried to act friendly but I wasn't about to invite her back into my life again.
Imajerk17 Posted June 26, 2011 Posted June 26, 2011 My last first date was awesome. Lasted 24 hours. Slept together. Things were over between us within a couple of weeks though, and not by my choice. A great first date is no guarantee of a relationship.

phineas Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 Last official date - (we had been out together at least 4 times before - no kissing) She showed up after work & changed into her jeans in my living room in front of me & told me not to get all horny. while we cooked dinner she made all kinds of sexual comments & kept showing me her mid section. We kissed. During the movie she put her legs on me, let me rub them. When I went higher then her knee she shut me down. When I put my arm around her she grabbed my hand & asked me what It was doing. shut down again. After movie, she said "no romance" then kissed me on the lips. said she had a fun time & we should do it again next month. After that she flaked on me so I forgot about her. half a month later she said she just wanted to hang out as friends. I told her I had a enough friends. That was 6 months ago. I did the Rocky in siberia thing & started training hard. The last two months I just hang out with women & don't even try to date them. I seem to do a lot better.
Cee Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 My last 1st date was a Sunday coffee date, which led to a walk and then a beer and a bite at a bar. The date lasted maybe 3-4 hours. I don't remember it too well because I was nervous and beaten down by the dating thing. I had low expectations. Good conversation, but not very flirtatious. No hug, kiss or handshake afterward. We said we'd see each other on Tuesday for the meetup group we had originally met at. And things flowed from there very quickly. By the time we had sex, we were pretty much together. And we made it official BF/GF a week later. That was 5 months ago. He's become the love of my life. I don't think our first date really shows anything though.
