irc333 Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 I saw this woman with a long laundry list....she had herself listed as having no children. BUT in in her profile, she says she had 3 children (and she names the breeds of dogs) THen she disclaims it with, "In case you were rreading the first part and thought I had children, it's true, I consider my pets as my children." Pets are great and all, but isn't this "state of mind" disturbing to a certain extent?

iJester Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 My mom spoiled my dog worse than many spoiled children are, and certainly treated him as a child, but I don't think she'd ever really compare him to me or put that on a website, unless it is one of her dog forums or something.

Being pretty attached to pets is no big deal - however if she starts talking about her pets like you would children such as: Well I don't know if I'd like to live in that neighborhood - it doesn't really seem like the cats would like it and I hear the school systems are poor get out.

tinktronik Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 its for that reason that i dont date women with pets at all... if a woman has pets she is always gonna put the pets first. and thats not fair since if im with a woman im ALWAYS gonna put her first. women with pets cant give as good as they get basicly. Awesome! :lmao: I would not date a man who really thought of his pets as children or used his pets to fill an emotional void from lacking children. I have a dog, he's an awesome dog but not human and not a child.

XD I've made jokes about my cat being my baby, but when I moved in with my boyfriend, I had to give her up to my parents because he had a big dog already that wasn't compatible with my cat. And I didn't once complain. I'd be more concerned if she treated pets like they were nothing. I knew a girl who killed a cat by microwaving it and she was f-ing crazy, especially considering that she would re-tell this story over and over again and laugh about how the cat looked while it was dying.
