eerie_reverie Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 eerie: I am so sad that my plans to drink all night were thwarted. Do you have any interest in hitting up a bar in the city tonight? We could play pool and talk **** about ____. love interest: I like both of those things, and drinking. My Dr’s appointment is at __ in ___ –text me your phone number at ___ and I’ll let you know how I’m feeling once I get out of there. I may need a drink depending on the news. Is it a date??
vsmini Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Possibly - more like a meet up. A date doesn't entail someone basically saying "I'll call you if I feel like it."
Highness Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Why label it?? No one in my part of the world goes on "dates" - its such an American concept. You meet someone, hang out a few times, and then when you're exclusive you're "going out" with them. Takes a whole lot of pressure off. Anyway, to answer your question, no I dont think this is a "date". He hasn't yet taken you up on your offer, and if he does, it sounds more like it will be because he will need to unwind, rather than because he really wants one-on-one time with you. (By the way, what's with the reference to maye needing a drink after receiving news from the doctor?! )
musemaj11 Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 Lol, that's like the worst way to ask someone out. Understandable however since u r a woman. Your language in asking him out was not only very unclear, but also negative. Its like you are having a bad day and u r callin a friend to meet up and talk about your horrible day.
Imajerk17 Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 If I were the guy, I would not have asked "is this a date?", assuming that he did ask you this. Just to clarify, this is how I took this: ************************************************************ You texted or emailed your love interest: "I am so sad that my plans to drink all night were thwarted. Do you have any interest in hitting up a bar in the city tonight? We could play pool and talk **** about ____." And your love interest responded: "I like both of those things, and drinking. My Dr’s appointment is at __ in ___ –text me your phone number at ___ and I’ll let you know how I’m feeling once I get out of there. I may need a drink depending on the news. Is it a date?? " *********************************************************** If he did not ask you this, then you'll find out by how he behaves. An aside... you said in a previous thread you wanted to connect with a guy who didn't drink too much. And here you are inviting someone to "drink with you all night". Hmmmm......
Els Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 Just go and see how things develop. You'd probably have an answer either way by the end of the night.
oaks Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 It sounds like you asked him out and he said "I'll let you know."
Author eerie_reverie Posted June 24, 2011 Author Posted June 24, 2011 I was nervous that he would flake out, but he called immediately after his appt, and we met up at a bar near my place. We talked for hours. He started kissing me while we we playing pool, and said that he's liked me for a really long time, but was apprehensive about dating someone he worked with. (Yes, he is another coworker, but at least I don't work directly with or near him.) He said he wanted to take it slow, but wound up coming upstairs after he walked me home, ripping my clothes off, and going down on me. So I guess it was a date. Part of me wishes we hadn't gone that far, so it won't be awkward if he never calls. But I am 80% sure that he will. He was really affectionate this morning and mentioned wanting to do that again (minus the part where we stayed up till 4 and had to wake up at 5).

No offense meant, but I guess we all knew you two would end up in bed. I hope he is single, and a good guy. Good luck.
Author eerie_reverie Posted June 27, 2011 Author Posted June 27, 2011 Good news: he asked me out!! We are going to grab some food and watch a movie tomorrow. I ran into him at work today and immediately got horny. I am so excited! Please pray for me, good people of LS. It's been soooo loooong since I met someone who was a good guy, and single, and I felt so fluttery about.
