LadyFlame Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 How attractive/unattractive do you find an ego in a female? The reason I ask is because on first glance I'm apparently goodlooking. Apparently, I have quite a dynamic personality also and guys are drawn to this. However, whilst discussing the guy at work (see my previous thread called 'Strange behaviour from this guy!' feel free to respond) with my friend, she tried telling me that she suspects he withdrew from me because I apparently let off some kind of egotistical behaviour in front of him (for example, telling him not to bother trying to compete with me at work after he said he was trying to, considering the fact that he's new and when I was new like him I was also slow; I certainly didn't mean this in a rude way) when I'm pretty certain I was nothing but polite and friendly towards him. As stated in previous thread, I'm pretty certain this guy was attracted to me at first, and then suddenly started avoiding me YET still I know I am a focus of his attention, because he treats me differently to everyone else. Also, if I come across as egotistical, I'm not being intentionally arrogant, just real. I may be the first to praise my virtues, but also the first to criticize my flaws. So what thoughts?
mogul Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 I find women with egos very attractive. Yet, when it is borderline narcissism is when I find it to be a turn off. You can be egotistical with out insulting others or giving off the vibe that you are better than everyone. Your comment about him not to bother competing with you at work depending on tone can either be cute and flirty, or insulting.
Author LadyFlame Posted June 23, 2011 Author Posted June 23, 2011 Well, I MEANT it in a jokey way, though I'm not sure how he took it. I had another guy at work who once accused me of being too condescending; not entirely sure how?
vsmini Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Are we talking about ego or confidence? I think ego is an illusion and people get wrapped in it. I want someone with very little ego and find an ego on someone VERY unattractive.

I have a pretty healthy ego, and there are men who are turned off by it. Ultimately those are men I wouldn't be compatible with anyway, men who are threatened by successful women, so who cares? There is a line you can cross where you turn into a self-absorbed bitch though. Learn where the line is.
