lagitana Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 I met this guy on a dating website. We met up, had a beer, grabbed a bite caught some live music sets & really enjoyed each other's company. Some really good kissing while waiting for the train but that's all. The next day he sends me a message -- what a great time he had & looks forward to seeing me again. Then that's it. For weeks. So after 3 weeks I make a funny, easy-going comment relevant to a picture and caption he's posted & then end it with "Also, why do you keep blowing a lady off?" He writes back, apologizes & we have some good frequent communication going of for a couple of weeks. Friday, I go out to his place after work. He owns a 3 flat. We chat in gorgeous yard with his neighbors. Pick up a pizza, enjoy some cool vinyl he has, then lots more good kissing but no further. He escorts me to the train & that's when WEIRD, BIZARRO GIRL CRAP comes out of my mouth. I can't even remember exactly what I said ... something like "Oh, I had fun, look forward to hanging out again but this time you need to call me if this is going to be an ongoing thing." I knew it was wrong as soon as it fell out of my lips. I don't know what the hell happened. Anyway, I sent him a nice, simple text two days later (Thank you for the hospitality, comapany & pizza. I really had a good time & you have a nice home.) & he answered (My pleasure. Talk to you soon.) So... first he kind of scattered off, then I kind of added a very awkward & weird good night. Given his previous response, I don't think he'll be the first responder & I'm just not sure how to handle the situation. Any pointers?
thehead Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 Let it lie. He's not very motivated to date you, IMO. If he were, you wouldn't be so confused and he would have followed up after the second date for sure. Sorry not to be the bearer of better news but I'd stick a fork in this one.
