There's a cute physical trainer who has been giving me a look lately (I work out 4-5 times a week) and I'm considered taking a shot at talking to her, but I'm not sure how I should go about it.

I realize she's an employee and they all smile at everyone, but I think there's a small chance there's something more so I'm willing to take a shot and find out. What's the best way to approach a gym trainer? Do you think I'll be turned down soley because I'm a customer and she's an employee?

Just say hi and ask her how she's doing if she responds.

A simple "hello" doesn't hurt. If she responds and is all chatty with you, then maintain conversation or something like that. Get to know her a little, see if she's genuinely interested in you as a person...or as a potential client.

If you two always seem to get into hellos and chit-chat whenever you come in, and are on first-name basis...ask her if you could call her sometime. If she gives you her number, then you ask her out when you call her.

Trainer or not, she's still a woman. If she's fancying you, then go with it.

Be careful, the situation has come here before where the woman trainer flirts with her eyes, and then tries to sell the guy training. Then when he asks her out, she says she cant cuz shes an employee. So dont ask her for training, just make small talk, jokes whatever. If you bring up training, she could go into selling mode. Just make small talk, if she brings up training, then you know youre sunk.

I guess I should just start simple. Hello with direct eye contact I'm sure could go a long way in seeing if anything is there. I see her teach a class sometimes on the main gym floor so I could ask her about what class she teaches.

I'm not a sucker, I won't buy training sessions. I actually have 2 free ones earned up from being a long time customer that I haven't used, mainly because I don't need them. I've been doing very well for myself on my own.

Yah don't ask about training. Just go talk to her and ask for her number.
