hello,

my fiance and i are very much in love and the best of friends, but i suppose as the wedding date nears, i am feeling somewhat insecure. i trust my guy more than anyone and i know he loves me very much. but i've been worrying myself silly reading all these books about how 50- 75% of married men stray. then there are the biological explanations and blah, blah.. about how men are not by nature supposed to be faithful to one partner. what do you people think about this?

worried and wondering..

If 50% stray then 50% stay.

Out of about 10 couples that I personally know, 8 have never strayed. One of the couples with a straying partner is a gay couple (I don't know if that makes a difference -- commitment is commitment) and one strayed after about 7 years and they divorced. A couple of the other couples have divorced, but not due to infidelity, and the rest of us are still slugging it out! :)

Hate to break it to you but men are genetically 'made' to stay failtful and NOT cheat.

The smaller the testicles in a ratio to the body means the less partners they are suppose to have. Take the Lion for example. HUGE testicles for the size of the body and has more than 3 mates at any one time.

"HUGE testicles for the size of the body and has more than 3 mates at any one time."

I think it always takes big balls to cheat.

You know what I say to that stat........HA :p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p

Anyway if you truely love your man and totally trust him, who cares about stats.

75% of married couples in North America end in divorce, it that going to stop people from getting married. No. Just try to live your life thinking about not becoming a stat.

How true, and forget about how big his balls are! I will go to bed tonight with a smirk on my face just thinking about this one!

Actually, I read a study recently that size does indicate weather a man will be more likely to cheat on his wife or not. Men who were self-confessed cheaters had larger balls. I know it sounds funny, but there is some validity to this.

I think that what really counts is the attitude.

You can get married thinking: "hey, I love my girlfriend, I want to be in the 25%!!! You bet I'll raise the faithful MM's statistics!" or "oh, cool, looks like most men stray, well, then I could stray too and I won't need to feel that guilty if it happens".

It is your mindset that makes a whole lot of difference. :)
