Hi all

I have been on Champix for 16 days now and today is my last day smoking. I've been a heavy smoker for some time now (10-15 years) and this is perhaps my 5th attempt to stop smoking. I have already reduced the amount I smoke from about 50 a day to fewer than 20 on the past 16 days.

I feel ready to end this relationship with smoking. It will be rocky to start with, but NC is the way to go (I hear) lol!

Wish me luck

Have you had any side effects from taking champix? I know a few who have and that's a major reason (that and I also don't believe in taking mind altering drugs) why won't try that.

Good luck! I hope I can steal your strength and mindset to quit too!

That's great, good luck! I strongly recommend the Allan Carr book, it was decisive in helping me quit.

Thanks, guys. WWIU, I feel a little nauseous for about 20 minutes after I take it. I had vivid dreams for the first week. Other than that, it's been fine, but I have taken a lot of mind altering drugs in my life so my experience is in that context.
