Is There an Alternative to Bars and Clubs for Nightlife?

As the title states, are there alternatives to bars and clubs on weekend nights? I've recently come to realize that I'm not as big a fan of them as I thought I was, especially when I'm out with other single guys...it always turns into me watching all of them shower random girls with attention in hopes of bedding them for the night...and then me leaving early...

 

So here I am on a Saturday night staying in for the first time in months watching a movie and d*cking around on LS...just wondering what else is out there...

Lots of possibilities. Stuff I've tried:

 

Art openings

Dancing- swing is fun as are other types

Texas hold em games

Meetup groups

Stand up comedy

Going to shore at night

All nighter in NYC and back on Amtrak

"geek" stuff like gaming and zombie theme parties

Exploring the city

Book, record, comic book stores

Outdoor movie showings

 

List goes on forever. Done all of things solo and had fun. It can lonely though. Most ppl are teamed up.
