I feel a little sappy because of the number of hours I had to put in at work and start to think of how I should have tried harder to keep my past relationships intact since I really don't know where to meet people anymore or have time for anything new. It almost seems like those people I meet at friends' parties all belong to couplehood.

A few questions for you all.

1. How long have you been single?

2. Any dates in between?

3. How do you feel about your current state of life (lack of relationships and everything else)?

4. What are you doing to change things, that is if you want things to change?

I said I was done with this forum for a while, but after 2 weeks or so I guess curiosity got the better of me. Oh well.

1. All my life. I'm 23 so I guess 5 years since being an adult, 7 years since I was legally allowed to drive.

2. A few. Last date I've been on was early February. In the last two years I've been on 3 dates.

3. In general a combination of despair and anger. Hopelessness is another one.

4. Not much at all. Aside from finding some hobby that involves copious amounts of women there's really not much else for me to do. I'm already in shape, I have some good friends, and I'm looking for a "real" job (as I just got done with school) so that I can move out. There's really not much else I could do, except "try" (whatever that's supposed to mean).

For me I just don't have that "thing" that attracts women. I'm a reasonably good looking guy, but a bit of an old soul. Aside from being interested in sports (and a small amount of other things) I really don't have that many common interests with people my own age. All my friends either like the same sports as me or are also old souls. Very hard to find a girl who likes intellectual conversation and classic rock (or at least doesn't find it to be a turnoff that I do). Between that and my relative lack of confidence I just don't find it to be reasonable to try anymore.

You're only 23. Chill. I'm older than you! :D

Any other replies? :)

1. How long have you been single?

A couple weeks. The relationship lasted a couple months, but I ended it because I missed being single and realized I wasn't as into her as I should have been. But it's been almost 2 years now since the ex...

2. Any dates in between?

No.

3. How do you feel about your current state of life (lack of relationships and everything else)?

Things are fine, I suppose.

4. What are you doing to change things, that is if you want things to change?

I feel like I've been forcing my social life lately with the bars and clubs...

1. define single? past the dating phase? by that definition a few months. never married.

2. yeah, quite a few. only one in that time past the first couple of dates though.

3. fine. i'm one of the wierdos who likes dating. not really looking for marriage, but open to long term if i meet the right person.

4. not a lot. i play the cards as they're dealt. i don't really dwell on past issues, i'm content with my world ;)
