Back in early May, about a month ago, Mr. Player (from "Am I Being Played?" thread) decided he'd set up a date with me considering he was going to be in my city. This man made it clear from Day 1 he was interested. Over the course of knowing each other, it became blatantly obvious through texting and talking on the phone, mind you the fact that it was a chance encounter is a whole other story -but -that he and I had amazing chemistry. He said all the right things, and he seemed like a genuine gentleman.

The day before he was supposed to come to my city, he and I talked it out and he said he'd discuss the details the following day. That day fell on a Wednesday, and due to the fact that I had work and couldn't meet him up for lunch as he had anticipated, made it even moreso strange for me.

One, being, he texts me 2 hours before lunch time saying how he'd like to take me out. 2 hours! Shoooort notice! Is all I could think of. The texting went back and forth for most of the day trying to set up a time that would work for me and him -knowing full well that he and I are in the same city. I made several attempts to try to meet him up later on in the evening, but that eventually fell through.

In the end, he said that he had work the following morning, early Thursday morning and couldn't stay in the city for much longer since he had to drive back home (the drive back home is at least a couple of hours). Throughout this ordeal, I sensed he wasn't really going to get together, so I sent him along his way home.

The part that made it a hook was at the end, he sent me a text essentially saying "I know you won't talk to me for much longer if I don't see you but I'm dying to. Promise me we'll meet up again". That's the point where I had to just be polite and send him along.

Since then I haven't heard from him. Did I do the right thing? Did he expect me to chase him?

meet up AGAIN? i thought you didn't meet up?

he may not have even been in your city on that day.

best to let it go... he's not making the effort to SEE you.

2 hours? Does he expect you to drop everything and come running? Sounds like he wanted a booty call more than he wanted lunch. My dates are a no-go unless I get 24 hour advance notice.
