The more I think about it, the more I think our LDR has come to a end. But it seems so cruel to break up an LDR when he is somewhere so awful like Afghan

: (

I just feel his priorities are all wrong, and I dont rank very high in them at all, I dont want to spend more years waiting and waiting.

Has anyone got any advice - it seems so horrible doing it over skype but I really have no choice as I cant exactly fly out to Aghan : (

Why is he in Afghanistan? Military or government contractor work?

No. You can't go to Afghanistan. Given the current US travel warning, it is not an ideal vacation spot. If, however, he is there on private business matters and has accrued vacation time, there really shouldn't be anything preventing you from meeting him in a safer location (Egypt, Israel, Turkey, India, China, Thailand, Vietnam, Japan, or Taiwan).

If you're starving to see him and he has such vacation time, I'd recommend Delhi. It's a beautiful city and as long as you're a smart traveler, you'll have no problem. Tickets from Kabul to Delhi are about $400 with Air India. A round trip from America might cost you $1.5 to 2k depending on whether you're coming from the east coast or west coast.

Meeting up is very viable. My SO lives in Japan and I was supposed to travel to the Tokyo area, but we changed our travel plans to meet in Taipei after the quake. It was the best vacation of my life.
