Probably not the right place to be posting this but I've been here for the last 5 months so thought I'd see what the experienced have to offer!

I'm going on a date tomorrow. Obviously wont be bringing up the ex and i will be upfront about my intentions (nothing serious, just see where it goes etc). I'm actually not that nervous but it has been 8 years and I'm a totally different person to who I was so...

Any tips etc? Any one been in a similar situation?

Ps. To all those new to the horrible roller coaster that is heartbreak take note: I was where you are 5 months ago. I honestly thought I'd be better off dead (never would have committed suicide but didn't see how life could be worth living with out her). After reading and posting here and a LOT of hard work addressing my problems including running and the gym, I am actually ready to date again! I still think of the ex but just fleetingly (although still too often) but it doesn't hurt like it did. Be kind to yourself but be strong, no contact is your new best friend! Good luck.

I just came here to say that I was on a date last thursday and she asked a few questions about why I was single and such and I cried like 2 or 3 tears and then I laughed and wiped them in the bathroom.

It didnt affect the date at all and I got everything I wanted from her.

She's not a retard or low quality either, career woman in entertainment.

Don't worry too much. I know everyone says "try to be yourself" and it sounds easy yet mysterious but it's really what that means, be yourself... Like you'd be around your friends or your sibblings... People respon well to that.

Good luck.
