I seem to have gotten myself into a bit of a situation. How many things do we go into completely innocent? Apparently a lot of them.

Last weekend, I went up to Detroit to see my favorite band. There I met up with some other fan friends, some of which I had not seen since my last trip there last year. One guy came up to me and said we had met the previous year, although I did not remember him. We got to chatting, turns out we were Facebook friends already. We all exchanged phone numbers (me, two other guys, and him) and said we were going to get the documentation down for said band we went to see. This past week, we talked on the phone. I'm thinking he's rather lonely.

He is married, which is on his Facebook page, and has two kids who are in their early twenties / late teens. I did not express any interest in being something other than his friend, just to be clear, but he told me that he is not happily married. His wife, he said, is a very private person and never comes out with him to do anything social, won't even let others come to their house. He said he is just now once again getting out into the world again now that his kids have moved out for college, and he said that he's pretty sure his wife will not be part of his life in a few more years. I don't know what that means.

I do not want to sound vain in anyway, but I wonder why it is that he decided to tell me this. Is he hoping that I will move in on the situation? I'm not going to, because that's just wrong. I guess he's lonely, what do you think? He called me again tonight and said he was in a Burger King parking lot and wondering what I'm doing.
