Cee Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 A friend was telling a story where he slept with a woman friend that he had always found to be attractive and dating material. He takes her to his place, they have sex, and afterward she says, "So what's next?" His response was, "I drive you home?" And then he drove her home. Many months later (and them back to just friends) she commented that she was confused by his behavior that night. I was flabbergasted that he missed a golden opportunity. My immediate reaction was why didn't he have her stay over. My friend denied he was looking for a one night stand, but thought she meant she wanted him to drive him home. Would other men interpret a woman's comment in that way? I thought she left him an opening to have a discussion about where to take things. I'm curious about other people's reactions to the story.
collegeguy_24 Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 If I were in his shoes, I probably would have waited a moment, than asked if she were interested in dating, or if all she wanted was sex.
oaks Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 He wasn't expecting there to be any conversation after sex and he screwed up. If she hadn't said anything she could've stayed the night.

'What's next' is a pretty vague question that can be interpreted many different ways. As you see, he did not interpret it the way she thought he would have. The best way to avoid misunderstandings is to be direct.
