Dust Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 What do you guys think about wearing a blue tuxedo with matching top hat and cane on a first date? In my situation we have been talking online for a while and are finally going on a date. I actually ran into her at the park while speed walking, she was walking with her friend. So, we’ve already met in person. Are tux’s to much in general?
nothappyjan Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 I love love love it when for my first online dating meet the guy wears a tux. Guys dont wear tuxes and top hats enough these days. Although i do think you need to pick her up in a horse and cart to really get her heart racing though. A guy pretty much wont get far with me if he doesnt pull the horse and tux out on a first date. Some say im picky, but i call it STANDARDS
mleung999 Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Be yourself? If you regularly wear blue tuxedos and a top hot, then by all means.
Mme. Chaucer Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Especially wear it if you're taking her to Burger King.

Nexus One Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 I've sort of promised myself not to wear suits on dates, just casual clothing, unless the occasion really requires it, like a ballroom dance for example. The reason is that I want a potential SO to like me for simply me, not the clothes I wear or what they could imply.

Nexus, Is there perhaps, some part of you that ALSO worries about NOT being able to pull off a powder blue tux circa 1970?
depplover_1980 Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 I reckon I'd keep walking and pretend I hadn't seen you if you did!
