Mag-Lone-Freak Posted June 10, 2011 Share Posted June 10, 2011 There's no arguing with my boyfriend who's a recovering drug addict. He doesn't want therapy so I try to help him the best I can, by expressing my negative views on dope, critisizing his movies, music and games of choice cause most of them are of a criminal, violent, drug theme, I can't help reacting upset when he comes home high or makes light of his addictions, sometimes I yell, a few times I threw out his dope, and last night briefly hid a stupid video game all about the criminal lifestyle he brought home with pimps, sluts and druggies and rather than see why, he gets coarsely upset threatening to leave me if I don't give it back, going on with all these extreme comments, saying he doesn't love me anymore, he's done, unless I give it back, making me feel awful... I hate feeling "mom" but he doesn't want professional help yet says he wants to sober up so what does he want me to do? I refuse to be deaf and blind to his issues.. I tried being my best councilor but it just goes in one ear out the other... This is what I'm coping with and have been for the last 2 years and its getting harder for both of us to put up with one another.. I'm thinking about going to couples therapy...?
