Woggle Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 June 26th is our anniversary and we will be married five years. I wanted to something special and I wanted to share my plans. I booked us a helicopter tour around the Jersey Shore leaving from Atlantic City which she has always wanted to then later in the day we will be having dinner at a fancy Italian restaurant which is her favorite. At night we will take a walk on the boardwalk and I will propose to her by the same bench where we first met so we can renew our vows. I know five years is early but I think the fact that we made it this far is worth celebrating. I also bought her a nice dress. Is this a good idea for a five year anniversary?
whichwayisup Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Oh yeah! She's going to cry and be so happy! Good work Woggle! I know you've been planning this special occasion for a long time.
OldOnTheInside Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 You forgot to cover your **** in chocolate spray so that you can give her the "night time special". But seriously...sounds like you know what you are doing.
allina Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 I think it's absolutely beautiful, you guys will have a wonderful time. Congratulations.
Ms. Joolie Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 It's extravagant, incredibly thoughtful and absurdly romantic. It makes me tear up because it's so obvious this is such a genuine gift from your love for her. How beautiful. I am so touched by what you are planning for her! Big congratulations to you both!
Stung Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Uh, YEAH. Those are some awesome plans, Woggle, grand and romantic, and the feeling behind it is just beautiful. I would cry if my husband made a gesture 1/4 as grand. Our anniversary is in October, maybe you could give him a call .
Afishwithabike Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 That sounds very lovely. I'm sure she'll love it.

quankanne Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 sweet Baby Jesus, Woggle ... you have me all a-swoon at the thought of a re-proposal, it's so incredibly romantic! I think you've got some fantastic plans for your anniversary, and I hope she enjoys them as much as we have enjoyed hearing about them  us? To Shreveport to renew my base I.D. and then possibly to catch something at the I-MAX theatre. Not so romantic, but nice, because it's a way of spending time together when we normally don't ...

Your wife will love it.....very very romantic.
Alma Mobley Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Ugh, that just makes me sick! And I am SOOOO jealous! You didn't really ask this question to find out if those are good plans, did you? You just wanted to brag, lol.
OpenBook Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Brag away, Woggle. What a great thing to be proud of!! :bunny: She will love it. Have fun!!!!
xxoo Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Sounds fantastic! Have you discussed the idea of vow renewal with her? I'd personally feel that was "too much" if my H suggested, and wouldn't want to do it, but think it is awesome of you to include it if you know she'll love it. Congrats!
Author Woggle Posted June 10, 2011 Author Posted June 10, 2011 I admit part of me wanted to brag but I wanted to know what people thought. Am I doing enough or not doing enough? I considered booking a cruise but my wife has insisted that we save our vacations in order to enjoy our new boat. We spent nearly five years saving up for that so I think she is serious. If you asked me after my first marriage is this is where I would be right now I would have looked at you like you were out of your mind but I am very happy that life took this unexpected turn. I just want to show her how much I appreciate her.
Stung Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 I absolutely ADORE you right now Woggle! What a sweet, thoughtful, romantic day you have planned, and with so much consideration for what your sweety would like. I know, right? Woggle, you better update us afterwards on how it goes. I bet she cries, but in the good way. I love it that you appreciate what you have now so much. Make sure you tell her that, too!
