I went to a psychic on Wed and she told me alot of new stuff that has been going on in my life and my ex's.We have been trying to work things out,but he has a very difficult family life. She said May through July would be exceptional for us and that we are soul mates. She new so much more and new how my life has changed.I have been to this lady before and she is awesome and things have happened like she said. What do you guys think about Psychics?

Psychics are entertainers. Some are simply beguiling you, others actually think they have magic powers. Most employ verbal trickery to eventually 'hit the target' a la John Edwards--you will only remember the things that come true, or the things so vague that they already have.

I respect your beliefs, if you believe in psychics, but I totally disagree with them. I think you're deluding yourself to make yourself feel better--I believe in neither psychics nor soulmates.

Psychics rely on feedback. Next time you go do not move. Do not smile. Perhaps do not even breathe. She will lose herself and you will notice the change.

I think there are reputable psychics who actually have a gift. I, myself, have a very strong pre-cognitive sense. However there are the ones who are out there for the money.

I went to a psychic once when I was married. At that point I was with my one and only true love. I took off my wedding ring to test his accuracy. He knew a lot about what was going on in my life and spoke in specifics. But, he kept calling my husband a "roomate" and didn't pick up on the fact that I was married. I told him I was. He told me that he is "not the one" and even asked to see a picture so he could know for sure. After showing him he still insisted he was not the one for me and went on to describe another man that I was supposed to meet. Of course, I blew it off. Afterall, I married my HS sweetheart and we were deeply in love or so I thought.

Well, Our relationship didn't work. We ended up as "roomates" eventually loosing a passion. This, mind you, was several years later having long forgot about the psychic. We got divorced. I'm still waiting for this "soulmate" to come along that he described.

I thought at the time it was hokey, but everything he said was or ended up to be true. Since then, I am a strong believer in the psychic gift. But you have to be wary of the rip-off artists as well.

Hey Dolphin,I really believe too. this is my second time and she hits the nail on lthe head too often. My mom told me to not offer any input and I don't,I don't say anything until after she's finished, than I am in awe. The lady has been in business for a long time,my mom remembers her when she was little. Everything she said from the last time has happened and the family problems also. People have since told me the pressure of school, family mess and a relationship was too much, and he needed time to sort through everything. This is what he is doing and I am giving him that time and space, and he is coming around. I am seeing a side of him I never saw before and he is opening up to me more, which is what she said he would do.She said we are soulmates and I am one of the few things that makes him happy anymore. He told me 2 weeks ago that only a few things in his life make him happy ,but when I asked he wouldn't say.I go to church every sunday and she said to still pray for him and continue to go to church ,she does. I believe.

Hope this dosen't offend anyone, but psychics don't have anything good in store for you. I think it would be highly benifical for you to stop seeing them. Most are misleading, or just plain interested in your money. However, I do believe certain ones like that guy on T.V get their info from a real source, just not one that will benifit you. Of course, this is only my opinion, but it hink you should be careful who you listen to.

Ugh, it drives me crazy when people think that "That guy on TV" (John Edwards) is psychic.

I can do what he does, and I have before. The results are astounding, if you're looking for them. It's called cold reading. I've watched "Crossing Over" and counted how many times he has been wrong (Sorry, the spirits are vague  ), or how many different ways his words can be interpreted.

That guy is a fraud, an emotional predator for profit.

im skeptical about john edwards too, but sometimes he seems to get very specific details right. But he is very vague, sometimes i think my wish to believe something is real clouds my judgement.

as with psychics on the street I never have gone because I think they are more for entertainment value than anything else. Most people dont realize but they give a lot of non verbal clues that "psychics" can read and that will guide them. A slight nodding of the head or somethind lets them know to keep going with that thought while a slight confused looks lets them know to change paths. Some people even give a lot of info away verbally. It called cold reading and that supposedly what john edwards does.

Life happens according to your beliefs. If you give a psychic tremendous power over your life, then you will truly believe what he or she says and it's more likely to come true. You can do that yourself. Anything your mind gives power to will happen for you, good or bad.

The mind is energy and I do believe that some people, particularly very young people who have not yet been told that there is no such thing as psychic power, are able to tap into that energy and see the much more than most people. Thoughts are things, they are energy. Someone who is highly sensitive and who believes they can tap into that energy will be able to tell you about your life...perhaps just embellishing on what they pick up on this energy.

I know it sounds strange but there are too many instances of the inexplicable to understand it any differently. And yes, many psychics are complete imposters.

I have a feeling that psychokinesis and ESP is horses***. :p

LOL

As for myself, I don't believe in predestination or soul mates. If I had a legitimate psychic ability, I'd rather use it to help people find missing family members for free rather than make a profit off of grieving families.

I totally disagree with all you saying that they are out for your money... i went to one with my mom when my husband and i split and she told me everything that was going on with my spouse what he was doing and who he was with and told me it wouldn't last and that he would be back and that in my life i was going to have two kids of my own ... after we got back together we started talking about having a baby and a couple months later i got pregnant and now have a 4 yr old daughter .. the oly thing i didn't understand was that i will have two kids of my own ... he has a child from a previous relationship and lives with us and always has .. the only thing that i don't get is she said i would have two of my own .. not unless she is talking about the one i miscarried last yr but other than that she was right on the money

I TOTALLY AGREE.

I've been taught that you 'just don't go there'. No one needs to know our future in that aspect. If someone tells you that you will die of a sickness in one year, Lord knows we'd all be ate up with it and dead in that next year. We do it to ourselves. If a psychic tells you your relationship will end, well then by golly, you're more apt to let/make that happen.

I do believe that most are scams. I can't imagine that all the psychics hangin out in Jackson Square of downtown New Orleans are truly psychic. How coincidental, ya know? I don't doubt that *some* people probably do have higher levels of what they feel or see....but keep that witchy crap away from me and don't tell me my destiny. That's up to one person to determine, and it aint some woman with a freaky hat on, lots of makeup and long nails.

I feel much the same way as Tony does. The mind is very vulnerable to suggestion and interpretation is 90% of what psychics live on. While I believe many people have a very intuitive nature and can read people as if they were reading the daily newspaper, I do not feel that there are true people with "The Gift". Many psychics play a psychological game. As many have stated already they feed off of feedback, even if it's certain things. Some people can look at how people dress, present themselves (sit up straight etc..) and literally take those devices and develop a story about the person they are talking to. Then that person (especially if they are going in with an open mind) start to take what the said psychic is telling them and almost subconsciously twist it to their lives. It's already been suggested to not mention anything or give any feedback. Why not simply ask them specific names, dates, times. If these people are so in touch with the spirits, or have this gift, why can they not pinpoint stuff. Why is it so vague as someone else pointed out. While I agree there is much in life left unexplained, until I meet someone that can tell me I'm meeting someone on said date and it comes true, then to me I will still be a skeptic. I feel that while our lives may be predestined in some form, we still shape and control how it is and no one but God in my opinion has the power to know.

As for "soulmates". This is a broad term. You have to really define soulmates. Do I feel there is ONE person that is out there for all of us? That's hard to say. I have skated both sides of the issue. While I feel there are people that are so compatible that it seems they were manufactured for one another, I do not, however, believe there is one person that was made for each of us. If this were true, then how many millions of soulmates have never met. What would be the purpose? I believe we make soulmates out of the people we meet. Those that feel they have met their soulmates, in my mind, are simply the ones I mentioned above, two people just so compatible that it appears that way. In life it's great if you can find your "soulmate" but don't feel that you have missed out in life or compromised if you don't find yours. If you have found someone that you are that close too, then great, be happy and consider yourself lucky. If you have not found that person, don't struggle too hard. Find someone you enjoy being with in some form. Looking too hard for a soulmate is much like the old cliche, "You miss the forest for the trees". Well, enough of my ramblings.
