Tony T
"Can you really have control over this emotion?" Anger is a learned habit we pick up during childhood from ignorant grown-ups. There are many more appropriate ways of expressing this emotion, such as disappointment. Researchers have found direct links between anger and heart disease ( http://vanderbiltowc.wellsource.com/dh/content.asp?ID=1258 ). If people think much of themselves, they'll learn to take things as they come and deal with them appropriately. People get angry when people don't act like they feel they should or events don't occur they way they feel they ought to. So if a person isn't angry most of the time, that means that life is sailing by pretty good most of the time...so why should it all the time. If you expect that once in a while things won't go the way you feel they should and just get over it, you will not get angry. Getting angry has no affect on anybody but the person getting angry. High blood pressure, hardening of the arteries, blood sugar fluctuations and an early death are the price we pay for getting angry. People who loose their cool and get pissed often appear as fools to the people around them.
