and I thought I'd share in case anyone else can get strenght from it.

Pulp - She's a lady

(I'm a girl, but it doesn't really change much of anything)

I can't even listen to it anymore, the last thing in the world I want is to be reminded of what I went through several months ago just after separation.

But I remember many times listening to this song on my way to parties, then putting on a brave face when with my friends, then listening to the song again as I was taking the subway ride or walking back home, all alone, repeating to myself "you can do this... you can do this... you're not gonna crumble down, you're not gonna die, you need to be strong, keep holding yourself together, you can do this..."

Gawd, just to think of the agony I went through, reminds me that losing my ex for good is good if it means I never have to experience such misery again.

If any of you is still in the raw first stages of breakup when you just feel like you've been skinned alive and rubbed in nettle, I really hope that listening to this song can make you feel even a tiny bit stronger, as it did for me.

I love songs like this, taking the ex off the pedestal.

Yeah, gotta love it lol.

"I guess I kinda missed you when you were away"

Funny, I always took this song as "let's see how deep into wishful thinking and denial I can get", but your comment makes me see the more deeply enpowering aspects of it.

Right now I am on a laptop with no sound....I will listen to this later.

Ever notice the songs on the radio have more meaning after a breakup.

Didn't realize how many break up songs there are until now.

Love "Rolling In The Deep" by Adele.

The one I've been listening to is Fleetwood Mac - Go Your Own Way. There's a

from 1977 of it on YouTube where Stevie's looking absolute daggers at Lindsey whenever she's not actually singing.

Sad how bitter they are to each other, but my God some amazing music came from it.

There, stupid me, I listened to the song again. For the first time since I realized that we're not going back together. For a few seconds I felt like the premises to a panic attack, but I'm okay. It's good that I'm letting the reality of this breakup settle into my system, however much it hurts. I'm delving into it completely now so that it can be over and done with sooner rather than later.

All the while I know my ex will do whatever he can to drown the pain, not think about it too much, and I KNOW it will bite him back someday. Might not be tomorrow, might not be today, probably not anytime soon, but someday it will come back to haunt him. The day I've found love again, moved on from him, he will remember the time long ago when he pursued me for months and thought I was out of his league, and he will realize what he has lost.
