breadandbutter Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 Hi, I need advice asap. Back in Jan my brother wanted to introduce me to a not so close freind of his, someone he knows of, hes a few years older than me and in a professional career, also of the same background as me. I checked his facebook profile and thought he wasnt bad looking. I however at that time was not ready to contact him. My brother did tell him of me though. A few months passed and I put myself onto a dating website. After flicking through profiles I came across his, although at this point I still did not make contact. So in Mid may I finally decided to go for broke and make contact via facebook after repeated pressure from my folks to find a guy. A few days had passed and I had heard nothing, my freind told me to forget it move on and keep looking for other guys on the website, in which I did. Three weeks had passed. I logged on to the dating website and decided to make a few changes to my profile ....mainly picture (and just before you think im ugly, im definalty not-the first profile pic was adequate and was getting me plently of interest-note this was also my profile pic on fb) and I changed a few details on the kind of guy im looking for. I noticed immediatly the type of guys checking me had changed (ie same religion, height, diet,) a few days ago I logged onto the website again and noticed he was on the chat facility (i was invisible so he could not see me), then all of a sudden I recived a facebook message from him saying i hope you dont mind me contacting you, heres my number and your brother did tell me about you and that he lived close by. Now im thinking should i make contact or not....why did it take 3 weeks for him to reply, he has an iphone and his facebook wall is visible, so he is clearly checking his messages, and why was he on the dating website and then make contact esp after i had changed my pic and profile ......what should I do???
ShatteredReality Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 Don't make too much of this - a date is only a first step. So go ahead and respond. I would personally wait till the following day, just to let him know you're not available at his beck and call, and leave him to do most of the planning and such. But it's possible he forgot he got the first message somehow...was going to respond but then got distracted...or maybe he was dating someone and then it didn't work out but he was giving it an honest shot....
