Dismissive attitude in educated conversations?

people can/do grow out of these tendencies. it's common with people in their 20s (due to them thinking they've "grown up" the first time they're away from their parents and living on their own/supporting themselves). they find out later that they really don't know sh*t and still have growing up to do (how's that for condescending, hah!)

 

Yea - that's pretty much what I told my 24 year old boyfriend (I'm 28) that I can't wait for him to look back on his 24 year old self when he's hit 40 and realize how young he was and he didn't know sh*t about sh*t. But of course he just laughed at me like he was still master of the intellectual universe.
