I have a nice conversation last night with this girl and today she asked to be added as my facebook friend. Does the fact that we haven't met yet make this an odd request?

Man or woman, why on earth would you add someone to your facebook that you don't know at all? Let alone, never met.

I ALWAYS add people on facebook before we meet. No fb, no date. This way I can make sure he is single and that his photos match the ones posted on the dating site. I have gone on too many dates where photos have lied, or I have searched for a guy on fb and saw that he was actually in a relationship.

yeah it's not weird at all, it's kind of common sense why girls especially would want to do that. it allows for much better screening to make sure you're not pretending to be someone else etc.

Why? Do you lie in your dating profiles? Is your "real" life that is visible on FB something you should be ashamed of? Are you afraid for new people to view who you really are?

I am in my 40's, and I swear I have never seen so much crazy-making emphasis placed on a social networking site. People can't be considered dating until they are"facebook official", people only friend each other after a certain number of months, people refuse to let their BF/GF be a friend on FB. Good Lord, it is a website for friendships.
