Queen Zenobia Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 Oh God - Sex & the City and that train wreck Carrie that used men and then let men use her. That show sent so many poor messages and so many women worship it! I think the last season came out when I was a senior in college and even my friends and I were like "these women are f*cked" I have never seen an entire episode of that show. And from what I have seen, I think I'd rather take life lessons from MASH reruns.
Star Gazer Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 This thread reminds me of this movie trailer I recently saw: http://www.whatsyournumbermovie.com/
Woggle Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 I have never seen an entire episode of that show. And from what I have seen, I think I'd rather take life lessons from MASH reruns. I would rather take life lessons from Beavis and Butthead.
Queen Zenobia Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 I would rather take life lessons from Beavis and Butthead. Also a solid choice. Albeit with a somewhat less cryptic and haunting theme song.
Star Gazer Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 I have never seen an entire episode of that show. And from what I have seen, I think I'd rather take life lessons from MASH reruns. Well, if you did (and the movies), you'd see this lesson: A guy you have to date for 10 years before he ever proposes, including by being his mistress, will probably leave you standing at the alter in a most embarrassing fashion (Carrie), whereas putting serious work and compromise into a relationship, will lead you to true happiness (Charlotte).
vsmini Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 I would rather take life lessons from Beavis and Butthead. I think the real tragedy is making anyone think it would even be remotely possible to write a weekly column for a newspaper and have enough money for a HUGE 1 bedroom apartment in NYC and have money to spare on ugly designer outfits (yes - homegirl was a fashion disaster) and $400 shoes. I still hear girls my age (26-30 yr range) saying "where's my mr. big?" Uhhh you mean the emotionally unavailable guy that strings you along but makes your heart go pitter patter because you like to chase after constant validation? Ooooph sorry - had to vent. That felt good. Yea - anyway - bad show.

Charlotte sucked too. She had major rich girl syndrome and dumped guys for the dumbest things and made it all look "funny and charming" - Remember dumping the guy because he was uncut? Aidan was the way to go.
Sanman Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 So they each get three rides and its all cool? And of course you shouldn't beat the crap out of people who upset you. Its illegal and leaves you open to law suit. It is not illegal to have sex with whomever you deem worthy of having sex with. There are some streets no one, not even you should walk alone at night. All in all, I get what you're saying. You have a preference and that's fine. We all do. I take no issue with that so long as you can walk what you talk. But to leap beyond and ascribe negative personality traits and even mental issues to someone for being different than you, is a bit douchy. It makes you come off like you think its some big loss that they won't be out on a date with you or as though they are doing something awful; inconveniencing you by not being in your dating pool. So you won't date them - whoopity doo. They are not an inconvenience because they are not in my dating pool. They are an inconvenience because they ARE in my dating pool and they waste my time while I am looking for a real relationship. Also I did not assign said negative personality characteristics to promiscuous people, the diagnostic and statistical manual of mental disorders defined it: Borderline Personality Disorder: Symptoms People with BPD are often uncertain about their identity. As a result, their interests and values may change rapidly. People with BPD also tend to see things in terms of extremes, such as either all good or all bad. Their views of other people may change quickly. A person who is looked up to one day may be looked down on the next day. These suddenly shifting feelings often lead to intense and unstable relationships. Other symptoms of BPD include: Fear of being abandonedFeelings of emptiness and boredomFrequent displays of inappropriate angerImpulsiveness with money, substance abuse, sexual relationships, binge eating, or shopliftingIntolerance of being aloneRepeated crises and acts of self-injury, such as wrist cutting or overdosing
mr.dream merchant Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 Fairly far from being a troll. I'm just a free spirited male who's life isn't governed by what I can do to please her royal highness. It'd be a double standard if the parameters were the same. Example you say? Sure! My (male) friend and I are in a bar. He wants to leave with a bar slut. I tell him he should practice leaving the sluts alone and delve in the arts of woo-ing the classy ones. That night, I leave with a bar slut and **** her legs numb. That is hypocritical. Men and women have been, are, and will continue to be different. The way we dress. The way we walk. The way we talk. The way we act. The way we attract the opposite sex. The amount of sex we require. The amount of want for sex. The amount of hunt in us. You can cry that men and women aren't that different in all areas but please, stop lying to yourself by saying that we're the same when it comes to the most animal like thing about us - attraction and mating. There is nothing but differences there. And for good reason, as nature would have it. And ****, it proved successful no? 6 billion people and counting on this planet. Funny enough, our differences are the same reason why this question is still being argued over for years and years, and more to come. You want my answer? Grow a penis and two testicles, live your whole life as male...then tell me that you would want a slut for a serious life partner. There's deep reasons why MOST men say "**** you." to a slut who demands more than a friendly ****. It's because she's cheapened in value. How many guys have penetrated her? How many guys have shared these same intimate actions you have with her? Bros before hoes? Can't turn a hoe into a housewife? This **** still rings loud till this day for good reason - because most men don't take sluts serious. Why should we? The only ****ing thing that women can offer us is their body and companionship. Would you want an engagement ring given to another woman? You would slap the hairs of your man's nuts if he tried that. Think about it. And get the **** off of your horse named equality. It doesn't exist. That double standard argument? It's about as tired as Kim Kardashian's loose vagina. Funny enough, she's a slut to. See what I did there? Double standards exist everywhere in the attraction and mating game. Get over it. Want a serious and loving man who isn't starved to death for hot action? Don't be a slut, and definitely get over yourself. Want to be used up and appear cheap in value to the opposite sex? Keep letting men slide thru like a Sonics. I've been single for 2 years. A good reason why is because I keep coming across women who are sluts but quickly flip on good girl mode when they realize they're dealing with a guy who isn't cut from the same cloth as all those other sloppy bum ass **** bags she let penetrate her. Ugh! I wouldn't put a ring on it for a ****ing million bucks sweety. Get off of me, matter of fact - get out of my car lol, walk home. See, I have nothing against a slut being a slut. Just don't try to get over on me, or I'll make you pay for it. All that deception stuff? Heh, no buenooooooo! I'm tired of typing so here, another several hundred words about why you should stop being such a damn airhead for a second and grasp the simple logic of why men don't want to love a slut, just bang her. http://www.askmen.com/dating/curtsmith/42_dating_advice.html 1

She had major rich girl syndrome and dumped guys for the dumbest things and made it all look "funny and charming" - Remember dumping the guy because he was uncut? She didn't dump him. He dumped her after he got cut (of his own volition) because he wanted to "share his new self with the women of New York"! But I agree... Aiden =
Woggle Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 Mr Big is the ultimate fantasy for some women. He is a player who can have his pick of women but in the end chooses a neurotic, chain smoking headcase who most can't stand to listen to for more than ten minutes. It's just like their own lives though. From what I hear in the last movie she is unhappy with him now that she has tamed him.
vsmini Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 She didn't dump him. He dumped her after he got cut (of his own volition) because he wanted to "share his new self with the women of New York"! Star Gazer Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 If he hadn't of gone through the surgery she would have dumped him. HAHA "I don't want anything that can make it's own carrying case." But... So? We're all entitled to our preferences, and she prefers hers cut. I certainly don't prefer an uncut d*ck either.

Palm, forehead, head, desk. Sometimes I think that show is meant for women to see how stupid the characters are. Maybe a lot of us got it wrong and thought we were supposed to see it as inspiration? yikes.
Star Gazer Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 Yea - I heard in the second film she cheats on him. Yup, by kissing..........AIDEN!
Star Gazer Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 Sometimes I think that show is meant for women to see how stupid the characters are. Maybe a lot of us got it wrong and thought we were supposed to see it as inspiration? yikes. Yup, that's where you got it wrong! Honestly, the people that complain the most about the series and the movies are those who have never even seen them, so they don't understand what they're about. IMO, the "lessons" to take away are "don't do as Carrie did" and "value your girlfriends"!
Untouchable_Fire Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 Actually Madame brings up a very good point. I get the feeling that most of the bitter feelings that men have on here come from the fact that they've been misled more than once in the past by a bad girl trying to pose as a good girl. What if a woman is open and honest about her sexuality and doesn't lie to you about her present or her past? Of course you have the option to take it or leave it, but would it bring out your feelings of anger? BTW, I make no judgments of this--I can't just separate love from sex, though I have done so in the past with poor results. I think most women are made as I am, but not all of them, so if they take responsibility for their own actions, why not? Yes, that is what this whole thread is about. Female honesty... vs. a lack thereof. If you have been or are a very slutty person... just be honest about it. Some men or women will like it... some won't. It's like trying to hide your religion from a potential mate for fear of potential rejection.
Woggle Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 I should start writing stuff like this and selling it to a gullible audience. I could make millions.
Untouchable_Fire Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 I should start writing stuff like this and selling it to a gullible audience. I could make millions. You would have to take some very powerful estrogen pills to pull that off. It's better to be like Tucker Max... the guy is a liar and an ahole... but super successful.
Woggle Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 You would have to take some very powerful estrogen pills to pull that off. It's better to be like Tucker Max... the guy is a liar and an ahole... but super successful. It would be easy. I could be like Brian in that Family Guy episode where he writes that crappy book and becomes huge.

It's better to be like Tucker Max... the guy is a liar and an ahole... but super successful. Tucker Max amuses the hell out of me. You can barely live with yourself just knowing the despicable things he does, but you can't stop yourself from being drawn in for the entertainment value. Though, the fact that he still gets laid seriously makes me question the judgement of some women.
Untouchable_Fire Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 It would be easy. I could be like Brian in that Family Guy episode where he writes that crappy book and becomes huge. I think the bar for pop culture is so low. Seriously... who watches "The Kardashians"... and Why? I believe that by constantly pandering to women the entire culture has effectively been lobotomized. Look what it did to "The Learning Channel"... Tucker Max amuses the hell out of me. You can barely live with yourself just knowing the despicable things he does, but you can't stop yourself from being drawn in for the entertainment value. Though, the fact that he still gets laid seriously makes me question the judgement of some women. Since I know at least one guy who is pretty much his clone, I can say those guys are really hit and miss with women. That guy some nights can reel in some crazy awesome girl. Career women with looks and everything. The next night he is struggling with the tired old barflys that go home with anyone. Tucker is just selfish.... and I can at least respect him for that. Also... he is funny about it.... and... I don't believe most of what he writes!

If you have been or are a very slutty person... just be honest about it. Some men or women will like it... some won't. It's like trying to hide your religion from a potential mate for fear of potential rejection. Yup. True story. Just be honest about being sexually loose. The second you try to convince me you're some "saint" because you know that's what I'd prefer, that's when I lose all respect for you...not as a slut, but as a person. I actually know some really cool sexually loose women. Good friends with one. I don't look down on them for how they get it in. I just look down on the ones who deceive that wholesome guy because she realizes he is cut from a different cloth, so why not make him work for it, make him think she's a nice classy bring home to momma girl? Deception is a nasty nasty nasty thing.

To do so, they need to be a psych's patient and you need to be privy to their psych sessions. I too could walk down the street ascribing various mental disorders to people based on very little knowledge too. But it would be speculation. Speculation is about as reliable as using birth signs to determine compatibility. Speculation isn't fact and correlation doesn't not equal causation. It won't even hold up in court! The check lists for mental disorders read long winded and are as vague as tarot cards. We're all bound to find something of ourselves in the symptom lists. Something that mirrors to some level some stage in our development. Take being impulsive with money. Who hasn't made an impulsive purchase? Does that mean we are all BPD cases? This is starting to sound like Betamanlet's post about a study of men in a psych ward having tattoos showing that tattoos indicated BPD. A study with no control group. A study of nothing but mental patients shows they have mental disorders and some of them have tattoos??!? Who'da thunk? Pipe down Freud Jr. no one is paying you hourly to diagnose them for life based on what amounts to a snapshot look into their life.
