How do I prevent physical attraction from luring me back when I know I shouldn't?

There's a part of my ego that needs some sort of weird sexual closure, like proving myself now that the emotional affair went physical in our time apart. How do I silence that voice? The attraction is still there even though I don't want it to be any longer.

I guess I should mention I see this woman almost every day for pick-ups and drop-offs as she is my son's mother.

Change your arrangements with her so that someone else is acting as an intermediary between you.

 

Stop feeding the situation. I don't recall your situation, but the bottom line is that if you and her shouldn't be together...then stop interacting with her in any fashion/shape/form.

 

Have her start dropping your son off at a grandparent's house, or daycare, or something, so that you no longer have reason to see each other.
