Xaphirus Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 MTF (Male-to-Female) transsexuals are people who were born biologically male but have or will become female by undergoing procedures such as gender reassignment surgery, laser hair removal, and hormone replacement therapy. Would you ever consider dating one of these individuals? Please include your gender and sexual orientation, as well as yes/no. For Example: "Male - Straight - Yes" Thank you in advance. 1
Ginger Beer Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 Male - Straight - Never thought about it before (I'll be honest) but 99% likely, no. Are MTF transsexuals women physically? Do they have a vagina after surgery? Is the only male presence the fact they were born a male? Are they ever really ''female''? All of these are important factors in deciding one's decision to date a MTF transsexual. Being a straight man, I only date women. I'm only attracted to women, I suppose you don't know who you're going to fall in love with but I'm confused as to what a MTF transsexual actually is.
Author Xaphirus Posted May 28, 2011 Author Posted May 28, 2011 (edited) A transwoman has a penis before surgery, and a vagina after surgery. In order to have this surgery, she must first be placed on hormone replacement therapy, which will physically transform her appearance female. Some things like hand size, shoulder width, and other masculine features cannot be changed. But they're often times never a problem in the first place. Many biological males have small feminine bodies. Laser hair removal removes facial hair, leg hair, etc. Breast augmentation is also a very important procedure for transwomen. A transwoman can range from an extremely masculine looking woman with a hairy lip, to an inconspicuous female with an attractive body. It all depends on how their body is before they start treatment, and how well they can blend into their new lifestyle as a physical woman. Edited May 28, 2011 by Xaphirus
sanskrit Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 Male straight no, unless it was Famke Jannsen from that season of Nip Tuck.
Feelsgoodman Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 No truly straight man would ever date a "transwoman". I live in downtown toronto, which has a large gay population, so I see transsexuals pretty much on a daily basis. None of them look even remotely like real women; you can immediately tell that something is off.

Some transwomen turn out perfect. However, it would be nice if you contributed to the actual question presented in the original post.
Enchanted Girl Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 Female - bisexual - yes I would also possibly date a FTM transsexual.

Straight men are, by definition, only attracted to women. Transsexuals are not women. Period.

Your claim that transsexual women are not women is dehumanizing. I would appreciate it if you didn't cause any more problems here. That's all I'm gonna say. Edited May 28, 2011 by Xaphirus
carhill Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 Male-straight-yes I asked one out oh, probably 20 years ago. She didn't find me 'masculine' enough. Nice lady otherwise, though. She was surgically correct, according to her. We became friends after that for awhile.
Jynxx Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 Male straigt no way in hell It's a popular topic of drunk discussions among people who have spent time in or will be moving to thailand. Even all drunk people say no. Then again, all of my friends are straight, would probably be different if some were bi.

If a straight man decided to date one, it wouldn't automatically make them bi. Just saying.

They may not have a penis and may have a vagina, but they still carry the y-chromosome so in my book they are male. Feel free to disagree, I'm perfectly fine with that, I'm perfectly fine with them and hold no judgement whatsoever against people dating them, but I wouldn't.

Feel free to disagree, I'm perfectly fine with that, I'm perfectly fine with them and hold no judgement whatsoever against people dating them, but I wouldn't. Technically, if you want to be scientific about it, they are not female. However, while having a vagina and being physically transformed into a women (face, skin, hair, etc.), it is safe to say that they are no longer male. They even have female hormones and therefore think much like a biological woman. I wouldn't judge a transsexual woman as male simply because of the letter Y they were assigned at birth. That letter means nothing in the life of a transsexual.
Feelsgoodman Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 Male-straight-yes I asked one out oh, probably 20 years ago. She didn't find me 'masculine' enough. Nice lady otherwise, though. She was surgically correct, according to her. We became friends after that for awhile. Then you are not a straight man. No matter what the OP and Enchanted Girl say, a male to female transsexual is not a woman, either physiologically or psychologically. A total male to female transformation is simply not possible - at least not with today's technology (and certainly not with the technology that was available 20 years ago...) That is a scientific fact.
Kamille Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 I'm always astounded by how protective of masculinity some people can be. I feel some of the posters here are more interested in displaying their heterosexual masculinity than in actually thinking about the topic. Once you've said that you wouldn't date a MtF transsexual, what's the point in arguing semantics and waxing poetics about what constitutes "real straight men" or "real men"? How reactionary. Female, straight, no. If the opposite, (Female to Male), I might.

Female, straight, no. If the opposite, (Female to Male), I might. Just because I don't share your sexual ambiguity does not make me a "reactionary". What's with the outdated 20th century shaming tactics? Straight is an absolute term that leaves no room for interpretation. Straight people are only attracted to the opposite sex. If you do not fall into that inflexible category, than you are not a straight person (not that there is anything wrong with that). The problem is that some people, who are not exclusively attracted to members of the opposite sex, still want to call themselves straight (likely because they are uncomfortable with their sexuality). Calling yourself straight when you're really a bisexual - now THAT is reactionary.
Author Xaphirus Posted May 28, 2011 Author Posted May 28, 2011 Then you are not a straight man. A total male to female transformation is simply not possible - at least not with today's technology (and certainly not with the technology that was available 20 years ago...) That is a scientific fact. So if I am a male attracted to this transsexual woman (http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_le7mfrFxvi1qe4m1ko1_500.jpg) I must not be straight? She has the voice of a female, the curves of a female, the breasts, butt, and vagina of a female. She dresses like a female and is simply beautiful. She has never undergone puberty as a male, and therefore grew up looking exactly like any other female would. You claim that since she has a past as a male, and has the Y chromosome, any male who is attracted to her is not straight. That, my friend, is absolutely ridiculous. Heterosexuality is, by definition, a sexual attraction to the opposite sex. It's about sexual intercourse; it has nothing to do with chromosomes or the past. Who are you to judge whether or not carhill is straight?
alexlakeman Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 Why the question op? You are thinking of becoming a tranny aren't you?
